It is murder. Pro choice is totally missing the mark. You made the choice to have sex. So you need to deal with the consequences. It is murder.

I somewhat agree with you. I think that abortion is always wrong. People don't like to admit that they are killing a living being. Everyone started out that way and its not fair to take someone Else's chance of living away from them. I met a lady once who worked at this center against abortion. Her mother had been raped and had gotten pregnant. Rather than get an abortion she gave her daughter up for adoption, and now the daughter goes around the world preaching against abortion. That's just one circumstance, and even though that is NEVER an easy situation and I completely sympathize with the decision these women have to make, I also know that it's not the child's fault that they were conceived under these circumstances. And as for women who are just out having sex and getting pregnant, they really should be more careful and take responsibility for their actions. People shouldn't have sex with other people unless they are willing to deal with the consequences, and ESPECIALLY don't sleep with people who won't help you with those consequences. After all, no one gets pregnant alone! And many times after an abortion women become depressed, and over half of women who have gotten abortions immediately regret their decision. So why would a woman want to make herself suffer so much? There is really just no upside to abortion. Anyone who is thinking about getting an abortion should watch the movie "The Silent Scream" it's a film created by an abortion doctor who wanted to prove that abortion is harmless. After making the movie, he retired. By the way, when an infant is developing in the womb it's nerves are a hundred times more sensitive then those of an adult, so every thing they feel, they feel one hundred times more than we do. Just some food for thought.

Regarding the pro-lifers answer. So I want to know, is it still wrong if the baby was conceived in an act of rape? How about incest? Let's go futher... a ten year old girl who was raped? Does that pedophile's child get to live because that little girl has to take responsibility for what that sick pervert did to her?!!
Pro-lifers are very narrow minded in my opinion. They don't see the big picture.
I don't feel that abortion should be used as a method of birth control, but it should not be outlawed.
Any woman/teenager who goes for an abortion should be given good counciling on different options. Adoption, foster parenting, etc.
The educational system should be promoting safe sex/celibacy to pre-pubescent teens, right through to college.
As for taking responsibility for having a child, I do agree with you there. But unfortunately the woman usually gets the crappy end of the stick, neh? How many teenage boys can honestly support a family? Is it fair to the child to be raised in sub-standard conditions? What if no one wishes to adopt? Then what? This poor kid is raised by the state for the rest of its life? That's hardly fair.

It's totally horrible.
One reason they do that is that they don't want to have the baby and if they are young they dont want their parents to know anything about it.
Another reason they do that is that they might not want to go on such a hard labor. They think they wouldn't even last on it. They think it would really hurt them.
The third reason is that they just don't want the baby. They are afraid that when this baby grows up, it's going to have a very hard time because they are having hard times right now. But even though they are going through rough times, their baby will still love them
Another reason is that they weren't really planning of having a baby now so, they abort tha baby no comments. That is just so rude.
I am totally against abortion! What they have done is their problem. They should act more responsible than kill their own young! Abortion is just so sick. Think about all of the babies that died because of it. Shouldn't they at least keep the baby instead of killing them??? Honestly, I think people who aborts their babies are going straight to hell for doing such a thing.

I don't think you're old enogh to be "gettin in any sexual intercourse."
However, if you are and you have and you have "did Somethin that u regreted" (like post this question), then I'm in favor of "Aborotion," The world doesn't need your spawn taking up space and decreasing the gene pool any farther.

Abortion is the expulsion of an embryo or a fetus that is not normally able to live outside the womb. Spontaneous abortion or miscarriage may result from human imperfection or from an accident. DELIBERATELY induced abortion simply to avoid the birth of an unwanted child is the willful taking of human life....
See: Acts 17:28; Psalms 36:9; Psalms 139:13-16 and Romans 14:12

It all depends on a lot of factors.
How old is the mother to be?
Does she have help with the baby?
Is the father willing to take responsibly?
Does the father approve of the abortion? (People seem to forget about the other parent)
Is the mother to be able to take care of the child (Does she have a job? baby sitter? etc)
What is the mental state of the mother to be?
I had an abortion once, at age 24. Father of the child threatened to kill me when he found out I was pregnant. I had no job, no money, and I did not want to bring a child up that way.

It is not murder. It is a woman's body and LOTS of women protect themselves but STILL get pregnant! These women obviously enjoy a sex life and DON'T want to be pregnant. No woman should have to carry a child and give birth if the birth controls didn't work. This isn't about adoption, either - SOME WOMEN TRY NOT TO GET PREGNANT BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO BE PREGNANT AND GIVE BIRTH. Women take birth controls to prevent this, but it often fails. Unfortunately, there's no way to prove it, so it's not fair to make abortions illegal. Think of the women who commit suicide or accidentally kill themselves and the child trying to abort it themselves because they don't want to bear children. Think of the rape victims who would be forced to carry an unwanted child. Think of the women who are not healthy enough to bear children. All of these terrible things because SOME people force the bible on everyone. If you put one law on a woman or restrict her, you can guarantee it will open the door for MORE restrictions and laws placed on women. It is another step backward from equality. What about the MEN who are spreading their seed all over and NOT HELPING TO PAY SUPPORT AND CARE FOR THEM. TOO MANY fatherless children and the poor moms are stuck with it all. Gay parents get criticized even though at least gays would give the kids a loving, healthy home and take care of them. It's wrong to force the words of the bible on people who are not christians. It doesn't matter what the bible says to those of us who aren't a part of it.
"Thou shalt not kill" some of you say... So WHY does president BUSH allow our christian soldiers to go and KIL KILL KILL (yes, it's murder if the bible says not to KILL). Interesting how you can make and erase the law and the words of god wherever and whenever you see fit.

oh i am totally pro-choice. if someone doesn't want that baby why would you force it on them? so they can resent that baby and abuse it? also, what if you were raped? would you want to be forced to keep that baby? what if you were molested? i am happy abortion is legal. it should be. not everything is so black and white. i think that not everyone deserves to have an abortion but i think that it's good it exists.
i think it should be somewhat expensive, no more than $800 so that it's not as easy as going, hey i got pregnant 10 times in a year, it's only 30 bucks i'll be irresponsible......
oh yeah and also, it's so easy for pro lifers to say "just give it up for adoption..." but you know what? face reality. not all babies get adopted and the world is already over populated.

i think its fine
- a baby cant live on its own untll its lungs are developed, around 7 months
- putting up for adoption means you still have to go threw the time and pain of pregnancy and birth, which has long time effects. plus the bills.
-its your body, no one else has the right to tell you what to do
-acidents happen, even if you use a condom it is only 97% effective
-you can be on BC and still get pregnant.
and they are takin responisiblity, they know they can not raise it, so before it can live on its own in a horrible world they get rid of it. it doesnt have a brain. its not a human yet. its about 500 cells.

The world is over populated and in many cases pregnancy isn't a choice, it was by force. We are lucky to live in a country where it is legal since before it became legal, many women died from back ally hacks attempting the cheep version.
I do not support it for the sake of "birth control" and I feel courts should be able to order repeat offenders of child abuse cases to be "fixed", but I do see it as a needed proceedure in many cases.
