Or is this just a normal result of her nose being a sweat gland?

My dog does this too... my vet says it's normal because of the sweat glands.

Could be an infection.

But, if he is excercising he could very well be dehydrated.

Make sure to give him LOADS of water when he is playing, excercising and espcecially on hot days not matter what his activity level is.

If the additional water does not solve the problem I would immediately consult your local vet.
