I have read that many of the names used for the holy spirit in ancient hebrew scripts are of a feminine origin.

I never thought about sex! Why do you have to think like that about the holy goddess?? the bees don't have sex with their queen!! the fish have genders and don't have sex! flowers pollinate without having sex! do you think ants have sex with their queens? that's a disgusting thought...why does everything have to be about sex with men? you call god the father, why can't we also have a mother figure with a feminine nature?

I am Wiccan, thus I believe in a Goddess and her counterpart God, whom she gave birth to - metaphorically speaking.

Because I'm not eloquent with explanations (I butcher everything I try to explain), I suggest you check out the links below and Scott Cunningham's "The Truth About Witchcraft Today".

Hmm. I'm not pagan myself, but my mum is. She has always felt that the earth has a feminine soul, espeically but not only becuase it gives life like a woman. Also, the earth gives and gives and despite humans ruining her, she continues to give all she has, a lot like a mother who sacrifices for her children. I don't think there are many pagans who believe in a human embodiment of the Goddess, becuase She is usually associated with the earth itself as her body.

There have been many Goddesses through the centuries, and some religions still have them. With a very active mind, you can imaging all sort of things, Gods, Goddesses, whatever.

The Goddess flows though all life.

I am an Earth worshipper myself. I have had lots of expirences where I "felt" a great connection to the "spirit" of the Earth.
Take care!

the catholics do they call her "the Virgin Mary"even though the Immaculate conception refers to Mary's conception by a woman generaly believed to be "barren"therfore mary was born without original sin.The virgin part was added later to conform with the poppular greco-roman hellenistic view of deity's,and make christianity an easier "sell"in the roman dominated world.personaly my concept of G_D is devoid of ANY anthropomorphic characteristics.
