for me, you see the essence of a man when he looks you in the eye and say sorry for something. what does he prove?
1) that he respects me enough to say sorry
2) that he respects himself enough to know that being wrong doesn't make him less of a person.
3) that he has the courage to analyse his own actions and find his own mistakes.
these things together are the essence of a man.
