Yes he likes you. But it seems that what you really want to know is if he'sa interested in something more than like. Now heres the genius part of my answer.

lol! how could u do this to us? how could u put this Q under martial arts? Well, its obvious that Charlie likes you, and since this is a martial art-related thread, go and kick his *** in the class, see what reaction he might gives, if he loves you, hed do nothing to fight back, and you can use him as a punching bag to practice your TKD!

Probably he's just the over friendly sorts. You didn't really give us the clear picture. If you stare at him and grin, and he smiles back, then he doesn't like you. If you hover around him and compel him to talk to you, then he doesn't like you.
