I somewhat recentely let my mom "highlight" my dark brown hair. knowing my mom, I trusted her. But I guess i was wrong, or maybe she did it on accident.
But anyway, I ended up having light brown hair, not just highlights.
I've dealt with it, but now I want to go back to my natural color.
The top part and my roots are still dark brown, so if I just dye it a darker color half of my hair will still be lighter than the top half.

I've though about getting a hair color remover, but i want to know if it's safe.

What brand should I get, how do I do it, should i do it, any suggestions?

Thank you.

All you need to do is choose a color that is as close to your natural as possible and apply it all over. The reason for the all over application is so all the hair will blend. ( no spots of light or dark)

Do NOT attempt to remove color on your own. Bad things can happen, trust me, I know from personal experience. Did you know it can take up to two years to grow out hair that's been leached of all its natural color? Ack! My advice is to find a haircolor as close to your roots as possible, and color your whole head. Use a semi-permanent color; it's not as harsh, and you can repeat every six weeks or so as needed until it all grows out. If you decide to remove the color, go to a professional.

I would suggest going to a salon. They would do the best job of

a) finding a dye that best matches your natural color
b) using something gentle enough to not damage your already dyed hair
c) knowing the best options for your situation, and your current hair condition

If your hair is already dyed, and you use another product on it, you might not get the results shown on the box, and you might make it worse by causing more damage.

Call a friend who gets her hair colored regularly to get the name of a stylist that is trustworthy.

Put on some sexy music and strip your hair.
Ask a hair salon on the phone if they can strip your color out of your hair.
And YES, Paul Mitchell shampoo WILL help get that color out.

As it grows out cut off the dyed part. do not know if the other stuff is good or not. Not sure other than letting it grow and cutting off the dyed.
