Why do guys in general seem more into gadgets and stuff as compared to girls?

guys seem to want the newest and greatest thing so they can brag to their friend about it. That's why car manufacturers have the speedometer go all the way past 200 km/hr even when the car bottoms out at 120km/hr, guys like to brag - bottom line!!

And NO girls aren't always interested in hair and appearance!!! My husband is more into the hair products then me! :-P Actually, the only hair product in the house that is mine is hair detangler!!

My friend Wayne says that this is an old generalization in the broadest sense. In reality, depending on certain cultures, men's gadgets are an extension of language, of male interaction (men don't have horns or fancy feathers), so today gadgets are substituted for the things which we no longer have.

In addition to gadgets, men also do stupid things such as sleeping all night on a freezing mountain, elephant hunting with a spear, and other idiotic behavior which should lead to the extension of their genetic line. In other words a man attacking a lion with a stick is a modern day "Bad Boy" for women. For example, the guy with the coolest car is the guy with the gadget who thinks he will be viewed differently by women (other things also, like piercings, tatoos, verbal expressions).

For the same reason that most girls are really into clothing and make-up and other stuff most guys have zero interest in. Men and women have different brain chemistry that make them interested in different types of stuff. But a lot of it has to do with how you were raised. Plus gadgets are awesome!

and that's just the beginning...

i am a girly girl who loves shopping, fashion, trendy designer handbags (i own like 30!) pedicures, makeup and things like that

and yet i am a gadget whore

i think it says something about your taste and status to have the latest and best technology.

i believe that is a stereotype and girls also like gadgets. the girls do the research and then tell their husbands what to get.

gadgets are as trendy as clothes, and women can keep up with the trends even easier than men because they are already doing it with fashion.
