a million. i'm in undemanding words worried the sinner looking grace by God. some human beings do enormous issues - yet that does no longer lead them to a monster. God justice is proper and is His mercy. The courts are not any further contained in the forgiving organisation and their justice is way from proper. How does a baby molester get one hundred twenty 5 years yet the fellow who murders a three 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old get a 7 a million/2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days sentence and out in a lot less that 3?? the position is the justice in those 2 cases? God does no longer ignore nor will he be mocked. I, for one do imagine we've too many police- they're everywhere now- the first signal that a socialistic authorities is on the horizon- the manpower is already there to implement a police state wherein no human being has any rights and all and varied is suspect of each thing. and that i kn ow of a minimum of 15 infant abuse cases the position the infant died (such because the single said) had the police executed their pastime proper those little ones would nonetheless be alive. the position is God in all this- God will use evil to entice interest to evil - study the OT and also you'll see it time and time back- the position God punished Israel for her sins through permitting evil international locations to take her captive. He did not abandon her yet became disciplining. in simple terms he's discipling the U. S. today for our wayward way and turning our backs on Him.

I was reading some of the posts....
Quoted from answers....
"Yes, Jesus came as a sword to divide the good and the bad but he represented a God who is ever patient and loving to his people. The angry, jealous and vengeful God is that pictured in the Old Testament, before the coming of Christ. "
So The God before Christ is not the Same God after Christ?!?!?!
WHAT?! ARe you trying to say he is two faced? I would believe that!
But if you are trying to defend your God, don't give mixed meanings! All you are doing is proving why the question was asked.
I agree with this quote from another answer
"Their god condems people for choosing the wrong religion, that's a major sin in my book. "
My thoughts: Religion is a way a person worships a higher being. So any religion worshiping god is doing it to the same being! Just because they do it differently or call the being different names doesn't mean they are going to hell because it is not the Christians VIEW!!!

Your absolutely right God is an angry, jealous, and vengeful God. You are also right about Jesus's message as being divisive and He will come back one day with a sword, BUT the thing you are missing is this God is the Creator and we are the created. He makes the rules and we are supposed to follow them. He is angry because the world is full of unrepentant foolish scoffers who think that they are more wise than the Everlasting God. He is jealous not for Himself but for us He is jealous because we decide to listen to those unrepentant scoffers (to our own hurt) instead of obeying His commands. He is vengeful because He is a just God and and sin (being anything contrary to His will) must be punished.
Would you fault a parent for being angry at his children for disobedience, or for being jealous for his daughter who has fallen in love with a no good jerk who only wants to get in her pants, or for being "vengeful" and disciplining his disobedient children?
Why do do you look to find fault in God for doing the same thing?
And you have missed the point that it take God years to punish people, that's because He is patient and He wants people to repent and turn back to Him, and don't forget that He came in the form of a man to die for our sins so that we may be justified by Him, even while we too were still sinners.
I used to be like so many of the people that are on this website. I too was a scoffer and a fault finder and one day Christ met me where I was and things changed for me. I now read the Bible not to find fault but to find Gods message to and for me. I have a fullness in my soul that I never had before even though I searched for a way to fill it. I understand where alot of you all are coming from but I'm here to tell you if you search honestly and just try Him it will change your life. I would be more than happy to help you in that search.

And I quote: "The angry, jealous and vengeful God is that pictured in the Old Testament, before the coming of Christ."
So, I guess god went to counselling and anger management after sending his only begotten son on a jaunt to save mankind.
I don't know about you but does anyone else see the rediculousness of this?
Or, what about "And when it says God is a God of vengeance, that doesnt mean, he really loser his temper somtimes and take sout [sic] revenge on people"
I seem to recall a mass-murder of first born sons in the bible, don't you?

I've often wondered why the christian god is cruel and why anyone would follow such a god. Christians seem to get a kick out thinking they are full of sin and they have to be redeemed - so much so that they would follow a god that would condemn his own son to suffer and die a horrible death. That does not make me want to have anything to do with their god.

Hrm...this one was sorta hard for me to answer.....but I'll try.
My dad when I was young was considered to be an honest man and very loving to his children. As a child, I saw him in the same light....but then when he would come after me with a belt I was scared and would run away from him....and most of the time I hated him for spanking me.....
It may not be a good example, but I think this is how people get with God....

Yeah, why would he kill innocent babies when he was really angry at their parents. What did the cute babies ever do to god? If he is so perfect, why would he resort to suffocation as a way to exterminate an entire planet except for those with Noah. Some perfect being... Of course the bible thumpers dismiss this by saying "He works in mysterious ways"... bah humbug!

God is perfect.....and his anger is only used in a righteous way....when people that have been warned don't listen and continue to be wicked, then his anger is not only justified, but it brings relief to those that are being persecuted for His name's sake....by punishing the wicked. He is not jealous in the sense of being covetous, but He and He alone is worthy of worship and praise....and we should not put anyone else above Him.
Vengeance is His when it is time to destroy those wicked people! Everything God does is righteous! This fact can be seen by reading and studying the bible!!

When it is said God is angry, it doesnt mean God is really upset and mad, and not thinking clearly. It means he deserves all respect, we should fear the Lord because he is all powerful.
When it says he is jealous, that doesnt mean, he really wishes all those hindu followers would come to him, and its totally not fair. It means he wants his children for himself, because he created them and has a perfect plan for them.
And when it says God is a God of vengeance, that doesnt mean, he really loses his temper somtimes and takes out revenge on people, it means God is the perfect judge, and he will bring people to justice and he demands an account for what we do
You have to look at the context of scripture when hearing phrases like that
