To get the most from tortillas, place them in a pan and heat them on medium heat for about 20-30 seconds on each side. You can also place 3-6 tortillas in the pan but you need to keep rotating them so they will warm uniformly.
OR
You can do it in a microwave. I place a moist paper towel over mine so they do not dry out. Once again, 5-10 seconds should do. Check frequently as you don't want to overcook them.
You can place shredded cheese in between two tortillas and cook them in a low/med heat pan. Turn after 30-40 seconds and in a few minutes (like 2), You can have quesedillas!!! Cut in 8-16 pie shaped pieces and enjoy!!!!

NOOOO!!! Unless you like the taste of paper or want to get sick out of eating flour tortillas. Read The label on the packages b/c some flour tortillas HAVE to be warm in a skillet b/c they are not fully cooked. While others can just be wormed up in the microwave. Add any thing to them. Cheese for quesadillas, meat and beans for tacos or just anything

Yes they have already been cooked but are much better warm.
I put them in aluminum foil with a little olive oil and bake for about ten minutes.
A great little snack I learned from a Mexican friend years ago, and best if you have a gas stove but can work on electric:
Turn burner on low. Put corn tortilla directly on the burner - low heat - and let it cook for about a minute, careful not to catch it on fire. Then flip it over and sprinkle with a little brown sugar or honey and a little cheese. Cook for about a minute. Roll up and enjoy. It's a quick and easy snack.

If you're a first timer on tortillas, where have you been ? I think anyone who is old enough to be on this site should have eaten at least one tortilla in their lifetime. But, to answer your question, yes, you can eat them plain. They are not that tasty, that way though. You can cut them into strips, and deep fry them, and then dip them in salsa.

you mean that you buy? Yes. You could put a few slices of cheese on one, fold it and microwave it, for 2 minutes, on medium power. Or spread peanut butter on one, and fold it over. Got a left over piece of chicken from APple Bee's in the firdge? Or other left overs from a restaurant? PUt into a tortilla, plus a slice or two of cheese and microwave fro 2 to 3 minutes.

I love eating them straight out of the package, but that may just be me.
Easiest way I can think of to prepare them is to either put cheese on them, roll them up, and stick them in the microwave for 30 seconds so all the cheese melts. Also, put butter on them and then cinnamon sugar, then roll them up and microwave for 15-30 seconds. Both are quite good.

It's better to put them in a pan with some butter....don't fry em just kinda heat em up...they are good that way..but packaged tortillas arent as good as the kind you will find made fresh in a Mexican Resturaunt.

Yes, you can eat them straight, but they taste better warm, especially the corn ones.
You can make quesadillas (kind of like grilled cheese but use a tortilla instead of bread), burritos, enchiladas, cut them up and make your own tortilla chips by frying them, etc.

Turn the gas burner on , on you stove top. Put the tortilla on the spider, turning it often, When it gets too hot to turn, slip it off and put a piece of bologna on it. Corn tortillas smell great.
