There's a donation requested, but not expected.
Most do give something out of respect, as is done for weddings and baptisms.
The priest who performed our marriage refused a donation. We knew he was fond of books, so bought him a gift certificate to Borders and made a donation to a local charity that he was fond of.
You need to get your head out of your bigotry...or is that small comfy world in Texas a good enough reason to hide out and walk away from anything you're unwilling to take the time to understand?

There is no firm price, there are suggested "donations" however, if you are a member, you can be sure they'll pull your card and see how much your family has contributed financially through the years before meeting with you to discuss the financial end of things. I know this from experience.

Ask the church. There is usually a typical donation for the priests time, plus payment for other services, such as the musician, as well as anyone needed to open adn close the church, set up candles and flowers.
Ask the church for your options... I would imagine it is similar to the costs for a wedding.
