Not until the illegal immigration issue is satisfied, no. They should find 100 billion in the annual budget and slash it all clear to put the money into immigration/border patrol until the borders are secure and we've sent a message to the south and around the world that america's not 'easy pickin's for em...

I think our homeland security is a joke. The only thing that's changed since 9/11 is the hassle everyone has at the airport. Nothing is any different, and I don't feel any safer. Not that I felt I was in danger before, but still...

If the government wants to do something to protect America, abolish the Patriot Act.

Has it improved ? Sure? But adequate against what? Another 9/11 type of attack? Not hardly. Because of the type of free and open society we live in, it is not possibly to completely eliminate all threats. There are still many, many avenues open for those creative and determined enough to try. It would take a complete totalitarian type of government to even attempt to control all access to this country. Something it seems the Bush boys would love to see but never will.

No, I do not believe that we have adequate Homeland Security. I believe that H.S. is a farce to keep us content while Bush and company allows illegals to come here and turn this country into a 3rd world country.

No, because as soon as you believe that it is adequate, then you let your guard down and create a false sense of security. Homeland Security is something that should be constantly improving and evolving.

I would have to say no. Thank GOD we have not been attacked again but it seems like it could happen again. Look what just happened in Canada. We have very weak border security and our nuclear power plants and other such structures need more defense. It would have been a better move by President Bush to spend more time, effort and money on protecting America then so much in Iraq. There are many reports being released stating America is not ready to handle a large scale attack or disaster. We need to work on these issues in order to preserve our great nations future.

No, I don't. I think the government has put border security on the back burner for way to long. We have become a vulnerable country because of it. It makes no since to have the weak borders we have with miles and miles of unprotected borders, and millions of illegals getting through. They are sneaking in America through Mexico from all over including the Middle East. Its probably just a matter of time before something really bad happens in this country because of the neglect of our borders for so long. I think all 2,000 miles of the border should be fenced or walled with cameras and guarded 24/7.

No-and I don't think we have enough big brains and true leaders in it.

The concern is too much on what people think and not on the cause of problems. Too many times they are treating the symptoms and not the cause itself. To solve a problem we must look at all causes first and fix them. Or we will have trouble again. Example If I have a leak in my pipes I could tape it-it will help for a while-but if I don't fix it more problems usually occur. That tape will eventually wear down sooner or later and maybe will cause another leak elsewhere..
No one likes to hear that we have problems. And no one likes to hear we have to stop the cause even if it hurts them because it is hurting others. Help some and Hurt others--it is just wrong.

No when I think they are pretty screwed up. I think the best homeland security is my eyes and ears and 40 cal. When they scan my 3 year old grandaughters stuff bear at the airport and make her take off her little tennies and than leave the boarders wide open ya gotta wonder where their head is at!
