Just keep your mouth shut. You might kill them

There's really not an easy way to tell someone with a heart condition some terrible news. Guess the best thing to do is have someone there that maybe knows CPR, make sure you have some Nitro pills and also make sure you have a telephone just in case you need to call 911. Good luck on giving the person the terrible news. Also, be as careful as you can be when telling him/her.

Talk to the doctor of that person and let them know that you have to reveal terrible news to this person and find out what they suggest. It is up to doctors to care for their patients and if there is a chance that there is going to be trouble from this person hearing the news the doctor should have the heads up. Also, you might be able to reveal this news with the doctor present if this person has a really good doctor and maybe they can help you lessen the blow, but you should not hide this news from them.

My father has much heart trouble. 3 major heart attacks, 2 open heart surgeries, a defibrillator and currently has less than 30% of his heart left. I've always been very careful to not upset him. I'm not certain why because my sister goes to him with a great deal of bad news. Not normal stuff. BIG stuff. And he seems to handle it just fine. But, everyone is different. Just please be careful. If you told us what the terrible news is it would be easier to answer this question. Good Luck.

I guess it depends if the news is for the heart patient or about some other matter you need to tell the heart patient. Just ask yourself do they really need to hear the news or is it necessary to tell them. EX: if my mom had a heart condition and her sister died, I couldn't have the guts to tell her, I would be afraid it would make her have a fatal heart attack. Just use your best judgement. Its a touchy situation.. Best of luck

Their heart condition is irrelevant, unless it has affected their mind. You reveal it exactly the way you'd reveal it to someone else.

What kind of terrible news? You should probably make sure they are sitting down. The person is probably not going to have a heart attack and die just because you have something unpleasant to tell them.

Be honest and to the point. My mom passed away recently and we are finding out so many things we did not know about her condition. We have been lied to and had information kept from us by doctors and nurses so, answer all the questions and be honest and to the point about everything.

If the person might pass away soon, it is best not to inform them. Though it is a terrible feeling to lie to that person, it will be a much more terrible feeling for the person. Don't let that person spend his/her last moments in pain.
