Catholic churchs operate like franchises. IE: McDonalds.

So much of the money they earn go to the Vatican.

Where as , say, Baptist churches are all "independently owned and operated" like say Subway.

They have a regional office that they can "order" materials, sunday school programs, music, etc.. but they keep the money in house, and redistribute to where THEY want the money to go, missionaries, the local poor families, or whatever.

Now, ask which way Jesus would have preffered. I would say he would "prefer" the locally owned churches.

To be honest at this point in the history of the world. There is probably no one like the Messiah. Not from any denomination, or religion. By the way, I wish people would stop bashing Catholics. Just because there are some people who lead our congregations that could not fight the temptation that Satan has put out there for them, does not-by any means- mean that we are all bad. Of course we all sin but that is the part about being human, that we often forget. The freewill that God has given us is a blessing and a curse. It is up to each individual person, in their heart of hearts, to battle their devil, and through that tribulation clean themself. And if you really want to get to the bottom of what Christian mean then you have to learn Ancient Hebrew so that you can know the true name of the Messiah. Jesus is just its greek counter part, as is almost everything out of the Bible. Remember this, THE TRUTH IS ALWAYZ HARD TO FIND.

Peace

I think this all depends on the catholic and which church they go to, as with just about any other denomination. There are many catholics I know who are definitely "like Christ" of the Bible, but there are also many who do things that Christ certainly wouldnt have done (examples would be praying to the saints, worshipping mary, etc.). Along with that, many "Christians", catholic and protestant, do a large number of things the bible says specifically not to do, such as lying (the biggest one), having premarital sex, having hatred/unforgivenss, and other things along those lines. So, technically catholics can be just as Christian or un-Christian as any other denomination.

I am not Catholic but I believe Catholics are like Christ. The Catholic Church was the 1st Christian Church. They believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour. Why would anyone think they weren't Christians?

That word applies to EVERYONE who claims to be a 'Christian', and not just Catholics but all of Christendom including all the Protestant denominations. Get it?

Perhaps your question is more directed at the Roman Catholic Church herself, as in: Are the doctrines and teachings of the RCC according to what Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible taught??

And regardless of whether the answer to that is YES or NO, it is NOT THE FAULT of her members that have been taught and indoctrinated by the Church. Get it??

Peace be with you!

Not all of them. To be Christ like does not mean that we have to attend mass or strive to do good. God impowers those that have recieved Jesus Christ as their savior to live Christlike. However, unless a believer allows the Holy Spirit to live through them they also cannot be Christlike in the sense that they are living in the flesh and thus think that they must do alot of things good in order to win the favor of Christ.
When the Holy Spirit is allowed to live through a person then that person lives in the spirit and the flesh no longer strives with that person and they become Christlike.
To become Christlike requires death to self, at times forsake all for the cause of Christ (although that is not always a requirment nor is that biblical basis for joining a monastery). It could mean death at the hands of our persucutors. So in short I would answer your question with no!

Yes, every Christian should strive to be like Christ, but I think, in context Christian means follower of Christ which is slightly different, although I admit you can hardly be His follower unless you at least try to be like Him. This is why, during His ministry He gave us so many good examples of right living - in the social sense I mean.
The term Mohameddan, though not used these days by muslims, does not mean 'like' Mohammed but a follower of his teaching and revelations.

Is that your people's problem? That we don't memorize the bible or think that God dictated it to a scribe. ("Chapter 3: The Commandments....")

YEAH, Catholics are no different than any other Christian. There are those who are like Christ everyday, there are those who try hard and faulter, and there are those, like you and your kind, who are pompous a$$es who THINK they know Christ better than anyone but were in the crowd yelling "Crucify Him!" louder than anyone else there.
