Matthew
1. Those who bear bad fruit will be cut down and burned "with unquenchable fire." 3:10, 12
2. Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn't the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. 5:17
3. Jesus recommends that to avoid sin we cut off our hands and pluck out our eyes. This advice is given immediately after he says that anyone who looks with lust at any women commits adultery. 5:29-30
4. Jesus says that most people will go to hell. 7:13-14
5. Those who fail to bear "good fruit" will be "hewn down, and cast into the fire." 7:19

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: "He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death." (See Ex.21:15, Lev.20:9, Dt.21:18-21) So, does Jesus think that children who curse their parents should be killed? It sure sounds like it. 15:4-7

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.
Fulfill what oh that's right the old testament prophecies that he fulfilled.
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Sounds like he is saying that its easier to go down the broad path instead of the strait path its easier to sin than not to sin. Most people will find it easier to sin than to not sin. Sounds true to me.
7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Parable maybe saying that a good tree bears good fruit and a bad tree bears bad fruit and that you will be able to tell them (false prophets) by the fruit that they bear. What do you do to trees that bear bad fruit you would cut it down, and destroy it.
Jesus being criticized and his reply is funny it is showing the flaws of the old laws and the hypocrisy of only keeping the ones they think should be kept.

Non-Christians sure like this method. The more Bible verses they put in a big long list the better they think their argument is and they know that no one is going to protest every single point.
I'll tackle one.
#4 Most people will go to hell...yeah, you need Jesus to get rid of your sins. That's how it works. That's why he was crucified.

Those who bear bad fruit and plant bad seeds into others and still refuse to accept Jesus as your saviour will go to hell. There is but one way to salvation and that is in Jesus. Do you think sinners will enter heaven? Do you think sinners who have no repented are just going to be forgave, as if they are instead of going to heaven going to Candyland so they may marvel in their sin. Sin along with satan and all who are in it will be defeated. You reap what you sow.

wow you get the point of eternity......sinners will be destroyed....incidentally, not because God hates them but because they refused to stop sinning. Those who are born again and have their sins forgiven God will accept and love throughout eternity. This is what its all about.....congratulations for understanding the first part......keep studying so that you too can get on His good side.

You don't know Jesus. You don't know God. You don't know the Bible. You take everything the Bible says literally. I feel sorry for you. Jesus taught in parables, and you need to study the Bible to understand what Jesus is saying. Not just read it.

Yea I wouldn't put too much faith in what the Bible says, most of it was written by Jesus' drunken friends...seriously though, it was been proven that it was written hundreds of years after the incidents. It's a guide, not absolute truth.

I love how you take everything out of context. Read the whole bible people and if you feel the same, so be it.
And a little faith wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah, the bible is filled with such shining examples of "love" and "compassion".
Maybe that's why most christians are so f ucked up, they are taught one thing, but do another...
