Try to give them reasons why it would be more beneficial for you to go to the public school. Be prepared to answer any questions that they will have for the reasons you give them. They may just realize that it is better if you went to a public school. Or not. But that is the best way is to try to show that you are responsible and that you aren't doing it for the wrong choices.

Go to the private school. If you are under the age of 18, your parents are in charge, not you. Be thankful they are willing to pay the extra money for you to have the private school education.
If you really are determined to go to public school, you must make a convincing, logical arguement from your parents' perspective.
They are determined to give you the best education possible for your future.
How is public school a better education that a private school? How will you at 30 years old be better off for having attended public school rather than the private school you currently attend?
You'd better have a lot of points answering this question, that are legitimate, clear, and strongly positive, if you plan to convince them.

you say "I want to flip burgers for the rest of my life. I know I will not earn much, but I feel it will be enough to satisfy my needs throughout my life. I realize it might not be enough to support a functional family. I realize I will live off social security when I retire. But I do not care. I want to go to a pubic school."

Thank your lucky stars your parents are wealthy enough to pay for you to get a better education. Shut up about it. Go to school and don't waste this opportunity.
