and once you realize that they are not doing it out of 'arrogance' but out of moral responsibility.... why do so many still hate Christians? PLEASE no remarks about preaching - try to put that aside for a moment, and try a different topic.

A great many Christians are like the ones described at 2 Timothy 4:3,4 ..."For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth , wheras they will be turned aside to false stories." They may see it in the Bible, or may have heard it at church, but as for learning for themselves what God asks of us, and then do it, it seems they'd rather have their 'ears tickled' than to actually go out and Witness.

We Witness by bearing good fruit completely free of the ego. When Christ dwells within us 24/7 there is no way we are going to be pushy or arrogant or judgmental or CONDITIONAL about God's Love we constantly share with others, regardless.

This sharing doesn't even require words!! Preaching turns people's heart's away.... the ONLY way to share the fruits of the Spirit is through the heart where the soul is accessed --- NOT THE MIND which is the resting place of the ego. We witness to being one with God by BEING LOVE -- not preaching it!! As long as your ego is still alive and kicking you'll Witness by preaching to the mind of non-believers. Once you have truly died to the ego (the fear based worldly self!) you witness via the heart instead, being sensitive to and harmless with the words you choose, because you know from being one with Christ which words will be accepted by the heart.... and which words wont be.

Ego cannot hide behind scriptures and preaching! If there's abrasiveness in the 'Witnessing' then that is ego! Why not take what others are telling you about your arrogant style and LEARN from it instead. Take it as feedback and don't take it personally!! Only your ego takes it personally!

Ask God to liberate you from your worldly self so that you can be a temple for Christ to constantly dwell. When He is living within you your every thought and word and action will be drenched in His Humility, Meekness and Agape.
God bless

I 'hate' on Christians because frankly, most of you who witness do so agressively. You attack people. You show ZERO respect for whatever beliefs they might already hold. Then blindly, you begin to pressure your own.

A Christian is not open to the possiblity that they might not be completely correct, in either manner or belief. A Christian can not accept the idea that other people might be correct in their beliefs, even when those beliefs contradict what their 'scripture' tells them. This is why when you witness, people respond aggressively. It boils down to disrespect and arrogance, taught to you and legitified by your bible.

I don't "hate" Christians, one of the things I find most disturbing about many of you is that you feel that if someone doesn't agree with you, they "hate" you. People who argue with you just don't agree with you, not agreeing with someone is not the same as hate. When we disagree with you, we're not bashing you, we're not bigoted or hateful. This topic is like any other topic; if I thought that we shouldn't spray chemicals on lawns, and you thought we should, I wouldn't think you hate me.

To address your question, you are welcome to witness to me ONCE. Once someone tells you they aren't interested, it's time to stop. You have met your moral responsibility, I am the ignorant one who won't listen, and is going to burn in the lake of eternal fire. You tried to save me, I wouldn't listen, not your problem anymore. But persistence in the face of a polite "Thanks, but no" in the name of your moral responsibility is offensive to those who do not share your beliefs.

But, really, I don't hate you.

Well, my opinion is this......We, as believers in Christ should not try to force our religion on people. However, I am always there to offer my input if it is asked of me to do so. I wouldnt like it if someone tried to force me to believe in something that I didn't. I would, however, listen to their side without judging. As a Christian, I dont worry about people hating me or my religion, thats their problem, not mine. I think tolerance accross the board should be the primary focus. God is a peace loving God, and I dont want to cause mass confusion in someone who doesnt believe. Shoving something in someones face is damaging to "us" as a whole. Then everyone starts to believe that we think all non-believers are evil and so-forth, which is not true in my case. To each his own.....as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Witnessing is not a requirement for Christianity. The only requirement is to follow Christ. Anything else is something someone made up.
