no it doesn't, in order for there to be a sound there has to be an ear, a sound isn't a sound that isn't heard

Ofcourse it will. I think its extremely silly for people to think it wont make a sound if noone is there to hear it. If some dies and noone sees it, does that meant he person is still alive? No it doesnt. It just means you dont know about it. If a tree fell, it will make a sound. Ask the monkeys and the squirrels that live in the jungle. :-)

the sound is made and it travels through the air even if no ear is there to recept it
and there will always be atleast an insect by a falling tree to hear it fall

the thing is...if there is no one around, it won't fall!! if you try to hide and put just a taperecorder, it will know and fall with a loud sound...
