I agree. You have only to look around to see that there is some kind of energy flowing through us - some kind of "magical" spark that makes this existence run.
I think "commercial brands" is a very apt description. I often say that I think each of the world's religions is largely the same story (the same essence or base) told in different "languages", as it were, and for different cultures - using local health concerns, local characters, etc. to make the story understandable to do the planet's diverse population.
Each religion is lovely in it's own way - it's a shame so many of us can't just be happy in our own knowledge and be happy in our similarlities and let people live their lives as they see fit.

Why do you believe "there is someone upstairs"? What makes you think there is an upstairs?
I'm not being cynical - I'm trying to get you to think about the basis for what you believe.
There has to be such a thing as "absolute truth" (that is true, and will always be true regardless of what anyone says, and will never be disproven).
The Bible claims to be truth and has never been disproven. If one believes the Bible and submits to its authority, they take the risk of being wrong. However, the risk of not believing it and losing one's soul for eternity is a far greater risk than believing it and being with Christ in Heaven for eternity.

It is good that you realize that there is a God. Please read the King James version of the Holy Bible and Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth to you.
The Christian life is the simplest life to live on earth. It is the life of a child simply walking in complete trust in a Heavenly Father who will provide all his needs according to His riches in glory. We do not have all the rules and burdens of other ways of life but only one rule; “Come unto Me.” Where the world thinks that things must be analyzed and broken down so that they can be understood, dissected so that weaknesses can be determined and solutions arrived at, disciplines set up and programs followed, Jesus simply says, “Come unto Me”. Are you having problems in your family relationships? Jesus says, “Come unto Me.” Are you having problems with sin? “Come unto Me”. Do you need something? “ Come unto Me”. What a simple and glorious way of life!. And will God correct and remove all the problems and difficulties? Not necessarily but He will “give you rest” in the midst of it all. That is the Christian life.
