I am of hispanic descent. My father(Panting) was born in Honduras, central America. He has mentioned several times to me that some of our grandfathers, who were black men of french descent that had moved to Honduras from Jamaica(Reynaud). My mother was born in Texas; her father was a second generation immigrant from Mexico( Valderas), and her mothers family 3rd generation Mexican immigrants (Cadena). Unfortunately we have lost track of our roots any farther back into history, any light that you could shed on my ancestry would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John Andrew Panting Valderas

The Israelite tribe records were destroyed in AD 70 when the Jerusalem temple was wiped out by the Romans. So no one can definitively say what (if any) Israelite tribe they descended from.

John to be part of a tribe of Israel you must first keep the commandments of God and his statuets. Which include keeping His Holydays and Feast. The people in the United States are from the tribe of Manasseh and don't even know this because most think that Israel is the country Israel ,NOT. You have here a wonderful question which tells me you are a person seeking the truth of God and that is what counts. You can check out which tribe you are from by going to www.cgi.org this is the church of God international request the 8 cds and booklet called (the biblical origins of the british commonwealth and the united states of america ) every thing you ask for is FREE NO CHARGE EVER. Check out the site and or you can call toll free at 1-888-578-8791 to request this sunday thru friday. Have a blessed day and if you like you can email me at ernest77h@yahoo.com Have a blessed day John

Christians are NOT decedents of the twelve tribes of Israel. When a sinner trusts Jesus for there salvation they are born again and baptized into Christs BODY (1Cor 15:1-4, Eph 1:13, 1Cor 12:13 and John 3:3-5 ) and are members of the BODY of CHRIST (1Cor 12:27 ) which is the CHURCH (Eph1:22-23 ) with Christ as the head (Col 1:18 ) which is neither Jew or Greek (Gal 3:28 ) We are a NEW CREATURE in Christ (2Cor 5:17 ) --we are IN Christ which has absolutely nothing to do with the twelve tribes of Israel. In fact, at the "root" of all christian cults is the false teaching that the Gentiles are the new Israel or spiritual Jews so they can control their members by telling them they are still under the law and must work for their salvation. Nowhere in the N.T is the body of Christ called a religion or a theocracy unlike Israel in the O.T who were a religion and lived under the law of Moses. Paul makes it clear the salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus not of works (Eph 2:8-9 ) and that the law cannot save (Gal 2:16 and 3:24 ) christians are NOT under the LAW but GRACE (Rom 6:14 ). Many times Paul calls himself the apostle to the Gentiles (Rom 11:13 and 2Tim 1:11 ) not to the JEWS or the twelve tribes --- why are people not understanding this important fact from Gods word ? A spiritual blindness (temporal ) has been placed on Israel by God (Rom 11:7-12 ) so US Gentiles can hear the gospel (Rom 1:16 ). The gospel is ALL of grace (Acts 20:24 ) because we are living in the age of grace ( Eph 3:2 ) Paul even says at the end of his Acts ministry that the salvation gospel is for the Gentiles not the Jews. (Acts 28:28 ) Be known therefore unto you, that the SALVATION of God is SENT unto the GENTILES, and that they will hear it. After the body of Christ is raptured away (1Thes 4:15 -17 ) the twelve tribes and the nation of Israel will come OUT of their spiritual blindness and be used by our Lord in a mighty way (Rev 7:4-8 and 21:12 )

I got in contact with a Jewish group who said only those descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were real jews. Uhhh..wouldn't that mean all Jews? I had a DNA test done for ancestry info and found out I had jewish ancestry. Only nobody seems to know where the tribes ended up. Most of my ancestry is western and mid Europe, and Scotland and Ireland. I know Germany, Austria, Sweden, Poland and France had a large population of jews. My ancesters from Germany, France and Ireland immigrated to the Virginia colony in the early 1700s. I don't think there is a way to trace what jewish tribe you are from when they were scattered all over the earth and the blood line was diluted from marrying outside the bloodline.

I don't believer you are from any of the tribes of Israel. Today in the age of Grace all people are alike before God. Galatians 3: 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. The question is why would you wish to be from one of the tribes of Israel? They have fallen and God has blinded them. They rejected what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross for them. He died for their sins also, Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. God does not want you to be ignorant that Israel is still trying to keep the law of Moses and they have rejected their king and they are blind and can not see the truth.

If you are LDS, then you would get a special bless from a Patriarchal Blessing, (a personal letter from God) in it, it gives you certian blessings tells you what tribe you are from. It also can help you chart how you live your life and the callings you may receive. It is all (except your tribe) depends on how faithful you are.
