Great question. Birthdays are a celebration of one person's birth by all who surround her or him. It's an annual way of saying it's great to have you around, to share life with you, we love you and hope to celebrate again year after year.

I think the coolest way to do it is the way you want, If its not what the masses as a whole think is the norm that makes it the more unique and a treasured tradition to pass on to the next generation and the next, and so on, These are the things that will be remembered and cherished long after you have gone, and will be remembered as a more than special day every year, for years, and
if done right for generations, this is a cool idea. JuJu

It should be a celebration of the person and if the family is around, so much the better. Everyone can have a good time.
Hopefully, it is another year of maturing, lessons learned and last but not least, remain healthy to enjoy what life has to offer.

I'm voting for JuJu...a truly beatimous idea.
Sure everyone has a b'day but who says you have to celebrate the way the masses do? Forget that, and do what you and your loved ones wanna do.
