Matthew

1. Those who bear bad fruit will be cut down and burned "with unquenchable fire." 3:10, 12

2. Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn't the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. 5:17

3. Jesus recommends that to avoid sin we cut off our hands and pluck out our eyes. This advice is given immediately after he says that anyone who looks with lust at any women commits adultery. 5:29-30

4. Jesus says that most people will go to hell. 7:13-14

5. Those who fail to bear "good fruit" will be "hewn down, and cast into the fire." 7:19

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: "He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death." (See Ex.21:15, Lev.20:9, Dt.21:18-21) So, does Jesus think that children who curse their parents should be killed? It sure sounds like it. 15:4-7

all the holy texts of ancient times have been changed over the years to fit political and social climates of different eras. but, that was man's fault. whether religion existed or not, there was still going to be violence over something. all religion is good until some nutcase takes things too far. its a shame that most ppl cant take the lessons that can be learned from any religion and apply them to their daily lives without going off the deep end and rejecting others that dont agree.

Some translations of the Bible may not be accurate. There are versions that are certified accurate. Stick with those. The Bible sometimes mentions war, but keep in mind that the Old Testament is largely a history, a history about the nation of Israel. All nations have been through war because some nations try to take other's land. Israel had to fight off invaders.

Anyway when people commit violent acts in the name of the Bible they are misinterpreting the Bible's entries. No violence is condoned in the Bible. The Bible may mention war, as I said, but in latter scriptures Jesus tells his followers to forsake war, and the learning of war. A person that bombs abortion clinics, and also the Crusades (the supposed "Christian" army) are hypocritical in their origin. The Bible does not ultimately support such actions. Conversion is a choice, not done by force. God may exact a penalty for not choosing the right course, but it is up to him, not to us humans.

All of these are from the Old Testament, which was Israel's civil law as well as their spiritual law. They did go to war against people. And rejecting those God put in authority was equal to rejecting God. Also Old Testament.

Christianity is not a civil law. Since Jesus came and fulfilled the old law. Christianity is a spritual, personal law, not national.

Further, the peace Christianity offers (as in “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14) is peace between God and mankind, which can only be found through Jesus.

We are commanded to live as peaceably as possible: "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men." Romans 12:18

Your quotes come from the old testament. The God of the old testament was a tribal God of vengeance. Jesus' God is a Loving Father who wants peace in the universe and goodwill amongst human kind. Herein lies the crucial difference between traditional Hebrew theology and Jesus' message which ahs become corrupt down thru the ages. Just because men (and women) do horrible things in the name of any religion does not mean that the religion is at fault. Any evil that is done in the name of God actually comes from the devil. Likewise any good that is done in the name of the devil actually comes from God.

I believe God can not order unfair killing, i agree thee are orders in Quran which tell the believers to fight well and don't fear, but those orders are only when they were in war.
God talks about His mercy and love, no He can not be brutal. These statements are to boost the moral of the believers when the are engaged in self defense with the mighty enemy.
I suggest never pick up one verse from scriptures and try extract some meaning, because i have observed that in scriptures the statements are always linked together and are in context to some incident. I mean to explore the true meaning we have to think deep and put a good effort then we can conclude some meaning.
I hope this will lessen your anger, but if you feel its not enough, post another question!!

If you were a seeker of truth, rather than a creator of chaos, you would know that the Christianity which is of Gods Son Jesus Christ, is a spiritual walk in love and truth, and that such a walk has nothing to do with religion nor any type of violence.

When Peter drew his sword to defend Jesus, Jesus told him to stop. There is no violence in real Christianity.

This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

Those are quotes from the Old Testament, (Torah) not the New Testament, which contains the teachings of Jesus.

And any injunction to punish or kill anyone is counterbalanced by the injunction: 'You will obey the laws of the land in which you live.'

Old Testament o New... for me... Old is original! But they make new bcoz for them something in Old T cannot be use anymore in this time...

For Christian, they r world's police and Muslims r criminals.
For them, they got license to attack any country & it make they can be 'tourist'
But Muslim didnt get any license to attack any country & it make they become 'terrorist'

Both r same!
But not all! Just some of them... either Christian o Muslim.

60:8 La yanhakumu Allahu AAani allatheena lam yuqatilookum fee alddeeni walam yukhrijookum min diyarikum an tabarroohum watuqsitoo ilayhim inna Allaha yuhibbu almuqsiteena
( 60:8 Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. )

60:9 Innama yanhakumu Allahu AAani allatheena qatalookum fee alddeeni waakhrajookum min diyarikum wathaharoo AAala ikhrajikum an tawallawhum waman yatawallahum faolaika humu alththalimoona
( 60:9 Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong. )

Some of Muslim confuse about the relationship btwn Muslim & non-Muslim! And they also confuse about Jihad!

Jihad just for protect urself, country, family when someone attack u ONLY!

Contrary to popular belief, those Jewish laws are not observed by reasonable Christians because the New Testament makes them obsolete. I do feel for you, though, because many of my fellow Christians are apparently not aware of this. Unfortunately, those tend to be the most vocal among us as well . . . .
