Let Iraq deal with "their" problems ? It is problems the US of A have created, for goodness sake !! Before the US invasion the Iraqi people were much better off.... they might have been ruled by a dictator... but - hey - so is the US, but the US is worse off: they are ruled by a BRAIN-DEAD dictator, who must be a direct descendent of Nero.

Before the invasion, the Iraqi people had food, medical care, and the children safe streets to play in. Now they live in constant fear of being massacred by cold blooded murderers, who accuse their horrid actions with "fear for their own life".

The US needed to GET OUT 3 years ago, but since they HAD to invade, attack and brutalize, allowing their own history to repeat itself, they have to get out NOW... not tomorrow, not next month, not in 2007... NOW, before their trained murderers can cause more dispicible massacres.. The US couldn't run a piss-up in a brewery and thus need to let Europe and Asia take care of rebuilding Iraq... and while they are at it: send the bill to BUSH.

As far as the US are concerned, military intelligence is a contradiction in terms.

Enough of the US caused blood-shed !!!

I don't think there is a "right" answer for this question. I feel like when we feel the Iraqi's can handle their own affairs without so much help from us is a good time to start winding down our troops. But I do not believe we will EVER be completely out of Iraq. There may be many people who don't agree with the war, and support our troops and as a military wife I thank everyone who does that. However, I would rather stay until it is finished right than pull out to early and have to go back to a country 10X worse than now.
Unfortunately the news does not show any of the good that has come from us being there. And yes there are A LOT of Iraqis that do not want us there at all. But there are a lot of them that DO want us there. And appreciate the help of becoming free. The kids have schools, and library's and things of that nature.
I miss my husband and my family that are there, and I'm tired of losing our soldiers and seeing them injured just as much as the next person. Especially when it hits someone close to you or someone you love. However, pulling out to early is not the answer. Whether we should or should not have ever gone over there is pretty insignificant now. Now it is just a matter of getting our job done and coming home.

I would say that we should look to successful campaigns of revolving a country as a guide. That would be Germany and Japan. Those took decades and in fact we still have troops in both countries.

Probably the worst things to do is pull out too soon or pull out entirely. Look at what happened in South Vietnam, Iraq in the 1990s, Beirut and Somalia as just a few examples.

Like it or not we are there and helping with a new government. The most humanitarian thing to do is get that government running, stronger than it is AND through several successful elections with turnover.

As far as forward thinking we need to comlete the job fully and patiently. We asked for those citizens to help us and they did. They need our help in rebuilding the country. Yep, every revolution requires rebuilding...and it takes time. Even the U.S. went through a long time. Remember the Articles of Confederation? The world after World War I took some time too...remember the League of Nations?

If we leave Iraq too soon the next country (Iran? Syria?) where the citizens want change but the leaders oppress any chance of change will look at us pulling out of Iraq too soon and go, "can't count on them to help us." Kind of like if the feds promise to protect a key witness against the mob and the feds quit protecting the witness before the trial. It makes it that much harder in the future for witnesses to help the feds because the track record is the feds won't finish the job.

So, the answer is: longer than necessary is better in the long run than too soon.

We should pull our troops out of Iraq for good when there are no further problems in Iraq dealing with this Terrorism. It was prophesized in the Bible that America must side with his chosen people, the Isrealites, and that means for America to continue to have God's blessing we must help Iraq.

Furthermore, the soldiers in Iraq volunteer for this, all the soldiers do. They know there is a chance they can be killed in wars, they know there is a chance they can be sent to Iraq. There is no draft enstated at the moment, to my knowledge, and becoming a soldier is entirely up to the individual.

How did you feel on September 11? That we should just leave them alone and see what they did next? I think not. I believe that we all thought that we should do something, retaliate, something of that nature.

The problem will be resolved in a matter of time, and the best thing we can do now is to pray for the soldiers and to pray for the entire war in Iraq as a whole.

God Bless the soldiers, and the USA!!!

I think it's more a matter of Bush establishing a permanent military presence in Iraq. Pull out a majority of our troops but have American bases to ride herd on other gulf countries.

The powers behind the scene have been wanting that for many years. Bush Sr. blew when he could have 'justified" it by fighting clear through to Iraq during the Kuwait Campaign. Then some could have justified the war, Saddam would have been history. Colin Powell and Stormin' Norman wanted to continue. Bush Sr. did not.

Then here comes that silver foot in his mouth brat of his, who uses the 9/11 tragedy and lies to commence a wrongfull war, divide this country and cause our international reputation disgrace and contempt.

Pull the troops out as soon as possible.

I am a bit of a liberal; more-so an anti-Bush administration pundit. I was totally against the war and its fabricated justification, poor planning, etc.. But now that we have transformed Iraq's cultural and political ways, we need to stay out the whole thing. It haunts me to think that what all those fine men and women that gave their lives would have possibly done so in vain if we just said "okay, this didn't work out as clean as we wanted, we're going home". Who would want to tell the mother of the last soldier to fall there that they are calling it quits now?
We need to just get geared up to elect the proper leadership on all levels in the upcoming elections. Perhaps a better thought out plan and someone who can come up with the right solutions very quickly; just like many highly trained military people are taught to do.

Ideally as soon as possible so that another soldier doesn't lose his life for a cause that he may or may not believe in. Honestly I don't see the troops being pulled out of Iraq until Iraq has a stable government and is able to handle its own security. It is in our best interests that we see that happen since we invaded the country. I don't think most people realize the consequences of pulling out of Iraq before it has a stable government and is able to handle its own security which is why alot of people want us to pull out right this moment especially since they don't agree with the cause for going to war.

I don't completely agree that we should have gone to war with Iraq but I do believe it is now out duty to stay their until Iraq is stable enough to stand on its own otherwise we will have an even bigger problem on our handles then before we went in.

The warfare in Iraq is out of control. possibly the thousands of troops that are going over there'll make some distinction, yet frankly, at the same time as that is all suggested and executed, Iraq is under no circumstances going to be at peace. we've now Iran making threats with their nuclear software. I have little question that pentagon generals are already making plans an invasion of Iran as I style this. We already understand a service interest pressure is being despatched to the Persian Gulf and that i I listen someone say they're making plans on sending more desirable troops to the realm. protection Secretary Gates has reported he needs more desirable troops to be despatched to Afganistan. till now it truly is throughout we are going to lose thousands more desirable in American lives and we are going to spend billions more desirable on attempting to gete a subject matter top that we do not have began in the first position.

Obviously they don't do so well at dealing with their own problems. We are making alot of progress over there. We should not pull out until the job is done. Why start something and not finish it and send the message to everyone in the world that we are weak and that they can terrorize our country and get away with it?

It's hard to say,
many want our soldiers back now,
some say pull out slowly with time, giving them a chance to govern each other instead of the constant overwhelming company of U.S. soldiers. I can't speak for everyone, but i think starting to pull some soldiers out, little by little, they should do good with what is left. But we shouldn't just 100% abandon them, we can still be there, but we just don't need our troops there all the time.

This question and the answer to it requires an understanding of the essence of the middle east .particularly an understanding of the culture ( Mideast in which we have become involved)
it's not like here where if you don't want to deal with a reasonable person you just shut the door and/or walk away. Wahhabi's will not stop until you are either subject to their beliefs or you are dead.A good example of this is Russia's history with Islam
