Nothing is messed up, it's just everyone's different point of view. That is what God did, gave everyone a brain to distinguish itself from others. In broder sense you can see only those things which you wanna see.

God gives man everything man needs, then God steps back and gives man free will.

of course he did- but in order to create a being for companionship- the stated reason for his creation of man, he had to create beings with free will. thosebeing would by nature be rebellious but unfulfilled in their rebelion- leading to a willingness (unforced) to seek God- as anyone with a relationship learns, a truly fullfilling relationship is based on the willingness of the people in it to be part of it- and to learn to trust and depend on one another- yes God knew what we would do, and knew it was the only way to develop a true and free relationship between himself and humankind- and eventually we will associate with him of our own free will, not under the duress that "preachers" put out there telling us it is the way to God.

He did but he gave man free will after that, to serve HIm or not
it doesnt matter, he is still all knowing
