Why were you refused pain meds? Were you just asking for them too often? Or did you not get any at all? If they just flat out refused to give them to you, you may have a lawsuit. A little money in your pocket courtesy of those who tormented you ought to make your dreams a little sweeter.

I think this is very interesting...Have you discussed this with your physician?...I am a nurse and "Pain" is considered the 5th Vital Sign and needs to be addressed in patient care. As a matter of fact the facility that did your surgery should know this and should have made sure you were getting medication for pain...I would first discuss this with your physician that did your surgery, then If I didn't get a reasonable explanation then I might contact an attorney. My only question to you is if you had some type of drug problem before your surgery and they didn't want you to relapse..please understand I am not accusing you of this but I have little information from your question. Even if this were the case you should not have been released without some type analgesic even if it were Ibuprofen or Tylenol...I hope you are recovering and your pain has left..

I don't understand the question. In my first childbirth experience I was in pain and didn't receive any medication for pain and I was wide awake. I was scared and the pain lasted for hours . I don't see a lot of difference in the situations. My first childbirth lasted for over 16 hours. Maybe a psychiatrist can help you.

I'm guessing that you're probably young...

I've had friends that had accidents and were in pain, but still had medication withheld from them just because they were young, and/or had a certain kind of lifestyle.

It's just not right. If someones in pain, then treat them goddammit!

I would first and formost check into the laws behind this, if you really were in agony, and had no prior drug charges against you *which i think would be the ONLY reason someone would deny you pills* I would check into state law against this... but personally, I don't know...

Report it to the AMA. You might have a possible law suit against the hospital, doctors, etc. Contact a malpractice lawyer.
