I totally agree with you. I live in one of those states. The city I live in is now 96% hispanic.
I don't have to tell you what that means.
As far as the comment that you are not illegal and don't have to go through what they are going through is crap. No one forces them to cross the border. I am tried of all the complaining about the American people and our government. They need to do something about their own government. By the way, my city now looks like Tijuana. The very kind of city they are trying to get away from. And for all you bleeding hearts in other areas that are not being affected by this yet. Sit tight. Coming soon to a city near you.l

I think the biggest disappointment on the border/illegal issue is unfortunately Bush himself. He's one of those 'globalization' fans, so he's got lots of friends etc. in corporate-land, and they could frankly give a tinker's damn about your rights, or what happens to your community when you move in 1/2 million indigents. That's why some communities are becoming even MORE stringent about income requirements for renting, police background checks, the whole show, because they don't want THEIR neighborhoods going to hell, even if the rest of the country does.
Hence gated communities. It's a sad statement, when people decide 'all is lost' in our neighborhoods and go live behind a wall, but c'est la immigration problem, and part of that resignation probably comes from a failure on the part of our representation to take a sufficiently serious approach to the problem by advocating better funding and direct oversight of things like the INS. Seeing as how some aspects of the illegal immigration problem rise to that of being a 'domestic enemy', that really DOES put Bush in a precarious position, and Congress as well by their collective failure to enact serious, no-joke enforcement policy.
A lot of people from Mexico need to GO HOME. Period. They're not evil, the majority aren't even criminals, but their illegal presence in america (and before you start, from ALL other countries, too, but Mexico first because it's not only the closest, it's got the most illegals in our country, who they're now petitioning to get VOTING rights for, by the way, among other things, they can't build that border wall fast enough, for my nickel)
causes a disruption and a double standard of labor law enforcement, screws with the wages people can expect to be paid for a fair day's work, that kind of thing. Furthermore, we can't afford to let Mexico pull a 'cuba', where they dump out their jails on our soil, and the very fact that they're practically COACHING their people through our border controls does NOT speak well of Mexico in terms of being a good future partner in anything, let alone commerce. We've got a problem to the south, and the sooner these guys wake up and pass the legislation that'll see a couple million go home, the better off ALL states will be, because it's not just the border states that are experiencing 'the joy of illegal immigration', it's all 50. It needs to stop...and it won't until our people in Washington, D.C., say 'no mas, por favor, NO MAS!' LOL

No, but I live my share. I admit to having the wool pulled over my eyes and didn't care before.
If I said that their ethnicity should all leave, legal or not, or all die, then I would be a racist. That would not be about the issue.
The issue is, after Mexico is finished end running our constitution by printing manuals how to illegally enter our country, when that is finishing and America is fractured, when will they start printing booklets on how to cede independant states back to Mexico. There are those who know and say that it's constitutionally indisoluable, but how sucessful has the Mexican government been already at passing laws for it's benefit, and by reaching it's goal by moral majority and attacking us legally until something, I don't know, crazy, like 'It's is against the civil rights of the Hispanic community to be tied to a nation that is not like us or our culture' or who knows.
That's not immigration. That's colonization leading to another war for independance.

I had relatives in California. And their taxes were insane. Their schools and hospitals drowning. Crime at an all time high. And they were always making concessions for illegal traffic (employment ect).
One would have to be blind not to see problems. And too many are burying their head in the sand. Our State programs are hurting everywhere.
It is time to get to the cause! Intentional or not. Its not against the race its against results of too many people flooding the area that we are not able to care for. Can one Mama sheep feed 30 lambs at once?
Do we allow in all the wolves because we have some? Drugs and weapons are coming in -they have a warehouses full of confiscated items from the area. These items are not healthy for country-and are meant for bad purposes. We need to put control on outside predators -we have enough here.
What we can control-we have every right to do some.

I live in Southern California about 6 miles from the border. I am a blonde with green eyes. I know many mexicans, speak spanish fluently, dance to mexican music, and can cook mexican food. I love the mexican culture and know many mexican people who are hard working, good people. What I do not like about living on the border is the illegal population. Our schools are broke, our hospitals are closing, our auto insurance is really high, our public assistance resources are strained. Our politicians keep asking for more money to cover OUR resources that are being depleted by the illegal population. I live it EVERY DAY. Thank you for asking the question, it is quite pertinent.

I live in Northwest Florida where their are few hispanics.Thank God. (Of course there are many in south Florida.) But any hipanics are too many. From what I have seen they are the lowest people on the planet. I have been studying about illegal immigration and legal immigration since the early 1980s when I became a teen. I know there are many places especially the border states that are overwhelmed by these filthy pests. You have my support totally. I know it is you guys that are now swamped and it will be other areas that will be swamped by these bastards tomorrow.
REMEMBER GOLIAD.
REMEMBER THE ALAMO.

I live in Arizona and work somewhere dealing with a lot of illegals. You're right people who don't see the effects of illegals first hand, have no idea what it's like. They think we're too hard, but I think we aren't hard enough.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. However, I live in North Carolina and they have INFESTED this area here. It is impossible to go anywhere without seeing hordes of them, they travel in packs.
Immigration does absolutely nothing about them here. We have asked about that for years. What is the point of there being an immigration office if they won't get rid of them?
It is estimated that there are almost two million of them living in NC. I think what initially brought them in was the tobacco farms. Now, they are all over the place and you can ALWAYS find them in the social services parking lot.

I don't live in any border state, but I have a great idea how it is for you. I live in NC and they have all but took over here. It infuriates me. I am so proud to be an American but I am so ashamed of our government. They have turned their backs on all of us. I am beginning to see what it must of felt like to be A NORTH AMERICAN INDIAN. Our government stole their land, stole their children and killed most of them for fighting for what was theirs and NOW they are just giving it to these ILLEGAL Mexicans. I know that may not be Politically correct but it is the truth. I feel for you I really do. My hearts bleeds seeing our beautiful country fade away.
