Personally I have no problem with chavez, he is doing a lot to help the poor, although he is a bit of a loud mouth. But venezuela is the most radical leftist government in south america and is right next to the conservative stronghold in the area of columbia. there have been border incursions by the armies on both sides. Columbia accuses chavez of trying to send aid to FARC rebels in columbia, also recently chavez has been building up his military with new ak-47's and russian made jets and choppers, do you think he plans to invade columbia, or that columbia may invade out of fear of chavez building up his military? and if so what would be the outcome?

Chavez isn't stupid! a huge mouth to say the least even if. If he invaded Columbia the U.S. would kick the crap out of him!! you do not have the foggiest idea whats occurring down there. do not difficulty about it. the U. S. army can cope with their Air rigidity and a flight of B52's in simple terms flying alongside the border would probable be sufficient prepare of rigidity to scare the military into deserting? Venezuela is an recommendations-blowing usa with large human beings. we do not pick to damage them. Chavez is conscious that too. yet we will damage HIM if we've too. We in no way must have grew to develop into over the Canal to Panama and gave up our bases there. enormous mistake on the united statessection! Oh properly?

Chavez isn't stupid! A big mouth to say the least though. If he invaded Columbia the U.S. would kick the crap out of him!! You don't have the foggiest idea whats going on down there. Don't worry about it. The US Navy can handle their Air Force and a flight of B52's just flying along the border would probably be enough show of force to scare the army into deserting?

Venezuela is a great country with great people. We don't want to hurt them. Chavez knows that too. But we'll hurt HIM if we have too.

We NEVER should have turned over the Canal to Panama and gave up our bases there. Big mistake on the U.S part! Oh well?

I am Colombian, so I will give you an insight to how we feel down here!! :)
I would like to point out, that although President Uribe has gotten a lot of support from the Conservative Party, his political roots are liberal, but he has been able to govern the country with out showing any real inclination. President Uribe was re-elected because on an alliance formed by numerous parties and political movements called "Primero Colombia" which translates into "Colombia First". This alliance is basically made up by people who believe that before political inclinations, there is Colombia. But, the Polo Democratico, a relatively new political party has been growing in Colombia, and it stands for socialist beliefs, a phenomenon similar to the one that is occurring in most of Latin America, who in recent elections have mostly chosen left wing, almost Communist leaders. Along with this growth, the traditional parties, Liberal and Conservative, have lost their force in the country, the only real party right now is the Polo Democratico (socialist), because as i have explained before, the Primero Colombia is just a bunch of people who wanted Uribe to be president, and will not last as a party, because the main thing in common is Uribe, having some major differences between the allies in the basic political pillars.
So, after that brief update on the political filed in Colombia, I will now give you a brief one in the economy.
Venezuela's and Colombia's economies are directly related, Venezuela imports many of its products in the food industry from Colombia, and being at war with Colombia could make the food supply in Venezuela be very scarce, as they have very little national companies that make food.
To sum it all up, Colombia holds excellent relations with the US, due to you being basically the backbone for Colombia's fight against drugs, Colombia is one of the US biggest allies at the time.
To sum it all up, Venezuela is not ready to fight the US, and politically, their beliefs are gaining a lot of terrain, the socialist party did not have a presidential candidate in the 2002 elections, and got second place in the 2006 elections, that is massive growth!!!
And economically they could not afford it, so... I really doubt that they will invade us, but hey.. Who knows.. this is only the opinion of a 15 yr old girl!!

We would defend Colombia, our best ally, even more than we would defend Mexico. We would fight until we got total surrender from Venezuela and an army of occupation from Colombia into Venezuela. Ak47's? do you know those are just rifles? Saddam had much better and the actual open fighting there lasted about 10 minutes.
