You know what it feels like when you're with the person you love most in the world?
How it doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing -- just the sheer fact that you are with them makes you happy, content, at rest, unable to imagine anything better?
I think being in God's presence (i.e., heaven) is the same way. To get hung up on the details of the environment (pearly gates, golden streets) is to get stuck on metaphors. Wherever God is, that's where heaven happens to be.
Better yet, we won't be confined to just experiencing this way with just God, everyone who loves Him and wants to be in his presence will be there as well, and we'll feel just as safe and thrilled with all the people there as we are with God.
So it's sorta like the atmosphere of a Big Party (the Bible uses the metaphor of a "Wedding Feast").
No fear, no feeling out of place, no feeling alienated or shunned. Heaven's the party, and those who love God are invited.

heaven, well it looks to me i have imaged everyone in white. It would be a place where we can see anyone body who ever lived and talk to them. I would really love to talk to my grandpa whoa has now passed on...But think of whiteness all over, then being with the women that i love forever...

When you enter, it will be glorious and wonderful. There will be tall, beautiful gates of silver and gold. There will be shining angels singing there melodies, they will be singing as 1. You will see ten thousand rows of pretty, glisening flowers, blowing in the exalted wind. You will see yourself, before God's feet, and you will recall your whole life. Then, if you are a heavenly christian, you can stay in that glorious place.

Someone people don't even realize they are dead. Watch "What Dreams May Come". That's the closest visual interpretation of that state of existence I've seen.

It's empty except for the beings who live there and the things they create.

I don't know what it will look like, but I know I will be with God, our Savior, and family and that's enough for me!
