You are quite misinformed about Hinduism!! Hinduism do believe in incarnation but do not say we incarnate into animals.
Hinduism says we reached human stage after taking birth in 8.4 million species.
A human being reincarnate as a human unless one is exteremely violent (then he goes back to animal to satisfy his urges)
Reincanation is a truth and if a book does not approve it, Sun will not start circling around the earth.
The core philosophy of Hinduism is different from hindu mythology. This philosophy solves the problems of the universe and tell us how to go to our next stage of evolution which is Divinity.
Most of the misinformation about hinduism is spread by missionaries... to stop their people from studying hinduism, as it may lead to closure of their shops.

A) Coming back as anything other than a human being is NOT reincarnation. It is transmigration of the soul.
B) Transmigration doesn't make sense. Animals are inferior in their ability to learn. They simply haven't got the brain to learn all a human being can learn. So how would being stuck in a body that CANNOT help one grow and learn do any good?
C) Hinduism isn't into punishment. It's into learning and growing. If you spend a life as a Brahmin and use your influence and power to hurt others, then you need to learn what being hurt is really like, so you get sent back as an "untouchable" and get a lesson in humility. If you learn it, then next time around you may get to be a kshatrya and learn from that level of society and so on.
D) Even Hindus are beginning to realize that much of their ancient faith is grounded in ignorance of fact. They are beginning to change. But I doubt that change will include opening a McDonald's in Delhi anytime soon.

the idea is that nature places the proper things in proper places..
can you eat food with the same gusto as that of a pig?...so many cant...
If your life is completely about food, a human body is not enough for you...In a human body, if u eat like a pig, you will become fat, get heartattack and die..
so , nature will simply make you a pig next time, that will be a proper body for you to enjoy your food..
Its like law of gravitation, water flows from higher potential region to lower potential region....electricity flows in the circuit will least resistance..
and your reincarnation will depend on how you interact with nature and which place and situation is best for your actions..

well animals is like humans too, since humans is thinking animals.
if you examine, every mother animal will protect her kids, and every child animals is cute. animals have feelings, it can cry too. it has family/love attachment. well those who adopt pets such as dogs, cats surely understand this. the males also fighting for the female. they fear death too.
