I believe that Kimber and Wilson Combat both make .22 cal Model 1911 pistols. But if you already own a .45 cal. 1911 you can buy .22 cal conversion kits, for plinking and target practice, then switch back to the .45 for concealed carry/home defense. All you have to do is switch out the slide, barrel and spring.

No one, however colt made an adapter to fit the 45 cal, 1911 to fire 22 cal cartridges
