as a saudi used to live in the US, you will face a big cultural shock. people are so different from Americans. people here are nice. when you are around saudis, don't act like a typical american. be more like that you are interested in our culture. you will make a lot of friends. if you make a good connection with people here, will be having a good time. people will included you in their activities such as camping in the desert, which is off the hook activity. three things i want to consider:
1 - women freedom is limited. Ex. she can not wear shorts and go out.
2- alcohol is forbidden. but you can find it in the black market which is very expensive. or go to bahrain where alchole is allowed.
3- No Pork. to be honest, saudi food is great.
after a while you will realize that saudi arabia is no different than any other country.
note: that if you are single, your life will be harder than ever. so hopefully that you are married. when you live here you will understand why i said this note, i will leave it for you to figure it out.
if you need more help, i am willing to help.
