A little advice here. Nicely break up with your boyfriend. Give him whatever excuse you can think of that is within reason and will not give away what you are actually thinking.

Wait a few weeks and then approach his friend and go from there.

This happens all the time and is not that unusual.

If you have not done anything with his friend in anyway, then you have nothing to be ashamed of. Thoughts are different from actions. It is the actions that you act upon which will cause the most pain in the end.

You are not immature for thinking or feeling all of what you are. You are just someone that has realized that the one you are with now is not the one you want.

Follow your heart. BUT listen to your brain first!

A difficult question to answer as you have not given much information.

You are certainly in an awkward situation because you cannot really sound out this guy without there being a good chance that it will get back to your current boyfriend.

You really need to ask yourself how your relationship is with your current boyfriend. If you are going to have any chance with his best friend then you have to end your current relationship. Bear in mind that if you do that there is no guarantee that anything will happen between you and your boyfriends best friend, particularly if they are really best friends.

Could it be that your relationship is just at a low ebb at the moment, in which case your feelings for your boyfriends best friend may simply be seeing that the grass is greener elsewhere.

Unless you are certain that your current relationship is over I would try to control your feelings for your BF's best friend. We are all human and it is not unusual to be attracted to other people. What matters is how we act on those feelings.

Number 1
Split from your boyfriend - If you "more than like" his best mate then as previously stated, your current relationship is doomed. You will always be thinking What If?
Number 2
If your boyfriend takes it badly then let it lie a few months.
Number 3
Only talk to his best mate about this after the deed has been done, see how he feels. If he likes you then great, if not then look elsewhere, don't think of what you have lost because frankly your current relationship is not worth dwelling over.
Number 4
Learn from it, we are all allowed to make mistakes, it's how we learn from them that defines us as people.

Break up with your boyfriend first. Scamming behind your current boyfriend will just lead to more trouble. And if it doesn't work out with the other guy (if neither of you pursue it), then move on.

You obviously don't care much about your current boyfriend if you like someone else...so either way the relationship is doomed.

What help do you actually need?

Just do what makes you happiest and be honest with your boyfriend and take your chances with his bestfriend.

It will all end badly with both of them, but at least it'll be a BIG lesson for you to learn from.

Good luck!

if you think you are in love with your boyfriends best mate then leave your boyfriend, because if you think about someone else then you are not in love with your boyfriend.

and dont think just because you break up then you can go after your bfs mate, he will prob not want to go with you because you were his best mates ex. so at the end of the day i would weigh thing up first

well if you think its worth it, then break up with your boyfriend. then start hanging out with your boyfriends best friend, but not too soon because then you will hurt your boyfriend. see if you have any feelings.
