Great question! Sort of a what's more important--the letter or the spirit???

If you believe it but do not practice it, it's dead. Faith without works... Even the demons Jesus cast out called him "Lord." (Christian perspective...)

If by "keeping true" you mean living/practicing/walking the walk of your religion... I'd have to say that's what breathes life into religion. Rules, laws and preaching without love and example are worthless.

Peace, love & happiness!

Being true to your religion is the same as keeping faith. Example;
Christianity is based on faith in Jesus the Christ, Galatians 2:16, and to be true to your belief by that faith you must remain true in your heart, Romans 10:9. I feel that is true with any religion, or for that matter anything that is important to you.

Most religions end up in the same place, the worship or hailing of a diety. Faith in your religion however is the same as faith in your beliefs. Beliefs with out faith are doubts, and if you doubt your religion, you should probably find a new one. I did, and now I am more at ease and believe 100% in my religion.

Both are important because if you have true faith in your religion, you will keep true to its teachings.

What is more important to me is faith in God, and staying true to God. Todays religion is a choice, and can be dangerous to salvation. There are many wolves dressed in sheep's clothing.

The most important thing is being true to self.Honesty is always the best policy and the way to personal freedom,a gift from God! The fact of the matter is that your connection with God is not always in what you do but whats in your heart.Jesus allowed us to seach our hearts to find that connection wich does not come from any ritual or religous practice.

It is more important to have faith in God. ur religion is the name u give to ur relationship with ur Creator. Be true to God. (Even if it means questioning whichever prescribed "religion" u subscribe to)
