I thik yes, that's why he makes them hungry. At least, that's what he told me during our last conversation! Are you going to defy God's wrath?

God hates the sin, but not the sinner.

I realize this post was made in jest. But I wanted to point out that the question seems does not seem like one Robertson would pose. Rather, it sounds like it would come from Fred Phelps-of "God Hates F-gs" fame. Still, you make a very worthwhile point. Christians who sincerely believe that a certain behavior is self-destructive would not engage in hate-mongering.

This reminds me of an opinion piece by Austin Bramwell (see link) where he argues that homosexuality ought to be compared to self-mutilation. One could easily replace "self-mutilation" with "anorexia" and make the same point. Bramwell argues that self-mutilation (like homosexuality) is a victimless crime. The only victim is the perpetrator. We ought not try to "shame" these people. We need to walk the delicate line of supporting them, without condoning their self-desctructive behavior. It is a very tough balancing act.

You cannot to be too harsh & unforgiving with someone engaged in self-destructive behavior. On the other hand, it is equally irresponsible to be aloof and hope everything takes care of itself.

Yes! You're brilliant! I was trying to understand the Nicole Richie thing and she's probably offended god with her consumerist lifestyle. As a result, he punishes her with hunger. What comes around goes around.

God & Hate cannot coexist. When we endure pain & suffering it is because of love. Because in order for our souls to become whole, we must learn certain lessons. It is necessary. You create your life & circumstances, even the bad. It isn't god. God dosen't hate. Its an oxymoron.

If you heard God talking to you, you need to go see a doctor about the voices in your head.

God's love is for all. Illnesses are ours to find cause and cure. And if you think you spoke to God direct, perhaps you better check out your sources a little better.

He makes them hungry because they starve themselves to death, wise guy. If God told you that, you should go see a doctor
