NO. They are a rip off. I even tried one that was a law firm and they did nothing but remove a public record I could have gotten removed myself with a letter and a postage stamp.

You MAY be a candidate for using a credit counselor. Note this can have an initial negative impact on your record too, but they have the ability to negotiate lower interest rates and get the creditors to stop adding late fees and such that make it so hard to bring down your balances.

Plus sometimes the credit card companies will "reage" your account after 90 days, meaning they will report you as on time from that point forward.

That can make a HUGE difference and if you can keep it up for 3 years or so, you should find that prospective lenders think a lot more of your credit.

While I can't recommend anyone to help you, I can offer some advice. If you think it's worth it to you to improve your credit faster than you are now? Then it's worth it! Do you have a burning need to improve your credit faster or is it just something you want to do? If you are trying to improve your credit because you're getting married, having a child, need to buy a new house or some other big life purchase, then maybe you should consider using a credit service. Again, it's up to you whether you, personally, consider it worthwhile.

If you want improve your credit, pay your bills on time.
If you are trying clean up your credit report, you can do anything a credit repair service can yourself.
If you are frustrated, or confused with the repair process you may need the help of a credit repair service.
If you decide to use a credit repair service DO NOT PAY FOR SERVICES UP FRONT!!
The credit repair process could take 6-12 months depending on your credit history.
Credit repair is not a quick fix.
Stay with it, you can do it!

no. put your money toward actually paying your bills. They are all scams. You can do all of the legal parts of the work they offer on your own, at very little cost other than the actual bill payment.

Learn all about what things are considered in a credit rating. learn what you can do to improve it.

Remember your credit rating is the business community's view of your character. You did not develop this character in a short time, nor can you change it in a short time. It is all about a business or person being able to validly judge for themselves what kind of experience they should expect from you in future business transactions. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior. Your credit report is the "picture" of your past behavior.

there are hundreds of companies out there that claim to repair credit. they repair your wallet! you can contact any of the companies you have credit with or bad credit with and work out some kind of deal. cut the interest down, double your payments, payoff the least amount account first and then go on to the next. anything on your credit will stay there seven years. if there is something on there, many will work with you to pay it off and either take it off or at least change it to paid. by paying anyone to help you, they get a percentage of what you pay and the rest goes to the creditor. why pay them when you can contact the creditor yourself and make a deal with them. the money you'll be saving will go to paying off more of your debt yourself. good luck!

Credit repar! There is no credit repair that works faster than 45 days! Most companies that offer credit repair are shams, they settle your accounts for pennies on the dollar and close your accounts. or they send letters to your credit reporting agency requesting they remove any bad marks and hope they don't respond in 45 days, then by law it has to be removed.

Just work it yourself!

No one else can improve your credit for you; only you can do that. If you to to a place like Consumer Credit Counseling, they'll take a look at your situation and they may be able to help you consolidate your bills so you can make smaller payments, but no one can wave a magic wand and fix your credit for you, at least not legally. It takes time and hard work.
