Haha, maybe from the Irish, or maybe cause fire is red as well. But I am a redhead and am proud of that thought! (though I don't really have a fiery temper, it's just fun to have people think so!)

as much as i hate stereotyping, i (redhead) have a huge temper, it may take a lot to set it off, but boy when it does. sometimes i wonder if the temper came from people telling me all my life that redheads have a temper or you know the saying "i'm gonna beat you like a redheaded stepchild". being singled out in that fashion can make anybody angry, hence, let's show them the temper that they speak of and seem to desire to see it.

Not sure, but maybe it's because so many red-haired people come from Scotland & Ireland, where they have a reputation for hot tempers.

Why do they think blondes have more fun? It's just a saying. (But, I am a red head, and I hear it all the time at work. Helps me cause I am a manager...LOL)

Well, I don't want to be all stereotypical, but my red-headed niece and her red-headed children and the red-headed man she married and his red-headed daughter make for a rather volatile bunch.
