Why do you still debate an issue that has been resolved? Illegal immigration is WRONG!?

There are two sides to every issue. This immigration debate has two sides. Legal or Illegal. Right or wrong. I have chosen to be right, righteously so! Any person who attempts to justify a criminal invasion is simply deluding themselves. If you support border security and no amnesty for illegals then you need to stop complaining and find a way to become a true patriot. Take action! Do something to bring about a change! I have contacted my elected officials and made my opinions and wishes known. I believe that myself and others working together have made a difference. locally, I started a grassroots group that educates people about the ongoing problems of illegal immigration. We also place flyers on known illegal sympathizers businesses. We keep track of the hiring practices of a number of local businesses. If needed we report the offenders to the proper federal agencies. on a personal level, I accost suspected illegals and make it known that they are not welcomed by me. Act now!

It seems that over time people use the term "illegal immigrant" very nonchalantly.

Let's analyze this phrase for a moment, shall we?

OK, the first part- illegal-Prohibited by law.

part 2- immigrant- A person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another.

Law- The body of rules and principles governing the affairs of a community and enforced by a political authority; a legal system.

So it is against the law...hmm... DUH!! They are illegal! AKA not allowed! AKA forbidden! AKA it is not okay!

There are only two side to the law: right or wrong, that means legal or illegal. Illegal immigrants are "ILLEGAL". Even a person with the IQ of a four year old could understand that. scottythecomic - when our forefathers came to this land they didn't get any handouts and they built this country to what it is today. What in the hell keeps the illegals from doing the same thing in their own country. I'm sure their forefathers didn't settle in an area that they couldn't survive in. They need to plant tomatoes, corn, peppers, beans, raise chickens and pigs, hunt, fish, do like OUR ancestors did, get it done, even if it's the hard way. At least they'd be leaving a legacy for their future generations that they could be proud of. Interesting that you would question the act of debating an issue that's resolved and then open up a debate on an issue that you claim is resolved...

There are more than two sides to the issue of illegal aliens residing within our country. The legality is just one of the facets of the argument. Whether or not the law is fair is another facet. How violations of immigration law are punished is another facet. There are many more facets to this gem of an issue.

And your statement that illegal immigration is wrong is your opinion, not a fact. Don't start getting butt-hurt though. It's my opinion as well. I just don't tout it as a fact.

And I'd be careful about who you 'accost' and how you behave around them. You'll soon end up with a fist full of restraining orders against you or a knife in your ribs. And accosting 'suspected' illegals is going to take you down a path that is uncomfortably close to a hate-crime. You get extra time in jail for a hate-crime enhancement on your conviction.

There is something that much of the Mexican population doesn't understand. America is a soverign nation, not there land of milk and honey.

Legal colonization or not, it will come to a head. I was just explained by another Patriot here that the constitition allows a civil militia if our government fails to protect our citizens and way of life.

Illegal immigration is wrong because it is stealing subsidized services like education and health care from people who can't adequately provide these for their own children.

It is not as if all of our own children had good basic educations and a promise of subsidized college. We don't have excess in these programs to share.

Because we subsidize our programs to pay for the poor, poor immigrants get a great deal. That is why we and other countries who subsidize programs limit poor immigration. People who come in above those permitted are stealing and it isn't petty theft. They are stealing our children's future.

Why do they think they have a 'right' to come and be paid for so that if it 'takes too long' somehow it is OK to come without permission? The line is long because we pay for them and their children and are only willing to pay for so many. They have never paid to subsidize anything for us, so what nerve do they have saying it is mean spirited?

It would take forever before I would decide to give them my car or pay their private school tuition when I can't afford it for my own children. That doesn't give them the right to come and take it.

You believe you're doing good by doing this but let me tell you something about immigration perhaps you haven't considered. People are starving to death across our border. What would you do if your family or you were starving and there was no money or work to make it? And another thing, let me tell you about our immigration process in America - it is flawed. It took me 4 years to bring my fiance here legally. Most people don't have the patience or wherewithal to wait that long.
