a cultural integration forced on them by another soverign nation?

The reason why I ask is the pro community gives subjective answers like, you can't change anything you have to cater to us we're here in numbers and will get bigger and stronger, and always: Deal with it!

so I am dealing with it...when did America stop being a melting pot and be only for illegals?

Lalita: So the message I get from Congress is correct then, that everyone is a citizen because no one has any rights as a citizen, or rather, because no one is a citizen.

I used to be an American, now I am nobody.

DAR: The current bill surrenders soveriegnty of our border with Mexico to Mexico, as they must give express written permission for us to do anything with our side of the border.

DAR: Yes by federal law they do get all free health care and housing. And they are well unionized and organzied, there is no such thing as an illegal making a dollar an hour any more than illegals being hidden in people's houses working full time for 40 bucks a week.

DAR, your right, no one disputes they are given every advantage over us. However should the bill pass in it's current form, 103 legal immigrants, mostly Mexican, will cross our borders every 20 years. Now, in my neck of the woods, for every job that I am qualified to do, there are 40 other qualified people. Should that number double or triple, how does that affect giving any of us any advantage to our goal of reaching the American dream?

I'd like to add one other thought here, to be fair to our politicians, I have heard myself Bush responding to the effect of how Iran affects the American way of life he responded, "The American way of life in Non-Negotiable". Is he keeping his promise by helping his buddy Fox colonize America?

Yes, and if I lived close to the border I would volunteer to help in protecting this country. That's why the minute men have gotten involved because the government just was not doing their job. The government has not made border protection a priority, and now we have millions of illegals in our country. When you have that many folks in a country with fake Id's and the government doesn't even know who they are it equals danger, we know nothing about most of them not even their real name. I'm sure there are plenty of felons, drug smugglers, and terrorists from all around the world that have entered our country through the weak borders. It could be in the making right now to do great damage to this country. The borders need to be protected the whole 2,000 miles of the southern border. If more attention was given to this matter years ago we would be a safer country today.

Everyone entering the US should do so by the rules of the Customs and Immigration Service (CIS). It is a very long process to get a green card (approximately 3 years). There are new, tough rules from the CIS, requiring police records of the immigrant from all countries in which they have lived in for more that 6 months for the past 20 years. This helps in home land defense. The other route, walking in to the country illegally, puts our country at risk.

Of course we have a right to protect our borders. They are just used to getting free benefits we pay for and use of our economy so they don't want that stopped. Obviously, it hurts us and benefits them. It also benefits big business that gets slave wage labor, but if big business wants them big business should educate them and provide for their health care.

However, Jedilogic is correct that security requires internal enforcement and preventing the use of social programs by illegal immigrants so they don't create a magnet for more. The so called 'Dream Act' slipped into the Senate Bill, on top of legalizing those already here and on top of a 10 year rolling amnesty if you are here for 10 years would legalize students and clear the way for them to obtain federal funds and in-state tuition. Since admission policies and funding policies prefer the poor, that means they will be getting admission and funds ahead of our own children. College plus retirement is an extremely hard nut to crack for middle class families. How is this fair?

Meanwhile, it will draw even more illegals across the border. There is nothing so good in their home countries.

Yars, you always have the best questions. I suggest you read the constitution as it was originally written and amended in 1776 when this nation became a soveriegn nation, with its own laws. I believe that the constitution guarantees the right of the states to provide for the protection of its citezenship, and in the event that the state does not, or cannot, meet this obligation, the constitution provides for a civil defense corps made up of the populace for temporary defense of the state and its citizens. I believe that this is called a miltia, there are many rules and regulations set up by the constitutional amendment for the formation and maintenance of a militia corps for it to remain a legal entity.

one of the other posters brought up a good point that americans' rights are diminishing before our very eyes. What we need is honest, capable, competent, motivated representation on Capitol Hill that will jump up and down with both feet on some of these negative trends and get the job done, instead of working half a year (if that), and standing by and doing nothing while some of these corporations basically sell the country off, piece by piece, to the highest bidder. 'That which is america is not to be sold down the river', neither it's people, nor its' properties. If Bush and company don't like it, they can emigrate to Mexico or something.
Good riddance, there....

Firstly, just about 50% of all "illegal aliens" in this country, entered this country legally and overstayed their visas.
The border is a valid issue, but being portrayed as the only hole is the system is just plain silly.

We have NO right to protect our borders from illegal invaders.

We are however, Expected to provide them with jobs, housing, schooling, welfare, amnesty... upon their arrival. After all Americans stole this land, actually just the "White" Americans, "NonWhite" Americans, aren't considered Americans, according to illegals.

Started with the government granting racists entitlements based on sex and race. Now they want to expand these entitlements based on sex and race beyond our borders to every "minority" in the world, even if they are not a world wide minority. Guess if you vote democrat you have to go further and further to buy votes as people get tired of the confiscatory democrat taxes.

Yes they have the legal right to protect themselves.
And now they are turning in back and biting back. And people are standing up and shouting to the crooked spineless Government. And they are taking action (Minutemen a good example). We have turned the other cheek long enough. And we are demanding change what we so kindly gave and was thrown back in our faces.
Their losing and they know it.
