Girl, look at my avatar...same hair as yours, and I HATE my hair! Mine isn't just nice and curly, or strait...it's kinky with patches of strait and wavy or curly. Be happy it's a uniform pain in the butt! I've tried using hot straitening irons...it works pretty well but I have to get the really hot ones you can only buy at salons or beauty supply stores. Also, try different styling products...if one doesn't work, go for another! Try cute hair scrunchies you haven't tried before, or add some cute hair clips...and most of all, remember...You're not alone sister!

I have tried Yuko system. It is a Japanese system of hair treatment, but it's really a hair straightener. It's nothing like hot combs or those smelly straightening creams. Yuko system takes several hours and costs a bit, but after you can let your hair down and it will swing left and right and left and right.

There's no smell and no pain, but sitting in the chair an exceedingly long time. Once you have this system, you can dry your hair in minutes (I used to take an hour!).
Not everyone wants straight hair, I know. This is just one option that is open to you.

thats a hard ques. for me since my hair is naturally straight and silky but since ur hair is naturally curly and perming won't work, you should probably put lots of curling gel and spray hairspay to tame your hair and give it a crisp and fresh look. i hope i could really help. but you sound like you've tried about everything. good luck on finding some good ideas for your hair.

I have the same kind of hair and I've learned to do a lot with it. You need to find a good conditioner (like VO5) and use it every day after you shower...but don't rinse it off!! Since hair is usually up try moving where your "ponytail" is. It works great for me!

Have you tried any styling creme? I know there are a ton of products at inexpensive prices that you might try. I like most of Garnier Fructose (?) products. They are really great for dry hair, mine isn't so dry so it tends to over hydrate my hair. I use Suave mostly, my hair is thin and fine. I like thickening products.

i don't believe of its the shrink, that is the colour. i imagine you actually truly might want to bypass for a mild blonde colour. no longer Platinum, yet truly mild. it ought to brighten your look, a lot less basic.
