move to brooklyn then. Anything in the city will be a fortune and very small. Apartments are very hard to find in the city. it's not like on TV. Lear the train systems cause owning a car in the city is extremely expensive car port rents are almost as much as an apartment. Good luck.

Consider the weather. The cost of living in such a big city,
Taxes are they about the same or higher, Safety issues, Higher price in food and clothes, are you used to city living where it is overly crowded, New York city like Chicgo is a rush rush atmosphere. If you like laid back non rush areas New York or Chicago would not be for you and family.

Contact realtors for the area in which you want to live. They can most always tell you about schools etc. If they have done their homework and are real realtors. Local area Chamber of Commerce can probably give you a good idea on job opportunities. Good Luck, and a big welcome to the Big Apple.

Screw NYC and come to Lexington KY. or a nearby community. You will find a job here or close by. In NYC you will never own a house or be in a good neiborhood with what you will earn.

Good Lord, move to an outskirt of NYC, for example any town in Long Island. Trust me, you do not want to LIVE in NYC, as it is quite an experience... or live in Poughkeepsie or White Plains and commute. Living in NYC requires an addiction to cocaine or speed.
