Check your diet for protein. You can eat protein on a vegetarian diet, and many vegetarians forget this. Soy protein is good, and you can get it without using tofu, if you don't like tofu.
I am not a vegetarian but I eat soy nuts and drink soy milk (my favorite brand is Silk). You should be getting about 84-100 grams of protein a day. 28 grams = 1 ounce.
Protein helps make muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. If upping your protein for two weeks does not start showing on the scale, then get to a nutritionist that is a vegetarian, for assistance.

Ya I have the same problem, but I am devoting this weekend to gaining weight. I will get as little exercise as possible and smother my food in butter. I willl eat double, and I hope to gain 5 pounds in one day before I return to tennis camp on Monday. If you find a more effective way to gain weight, please tell me. Oh and another tip, my older brother takes protein powder that has like 2000 calories, that will help you gain weight real fast, I am gonna try some and I will tell you how it works out.

I am in the same shoe buddy, take protein shakes 3 times a day after youe at usually, always have a big breakfast - if you work out do more weights less reps, with some protien shakes prior to your work out
I am 5.7 and was 100 lbs now I have gain 25 lbs in 3 months
not a big accomplishment but its gettin there

Dude, time to start loading up on the carbs and protein. Make sure you eat a meal every two hours, and drink at least one gallon of water per day. Also try eating a meal right before you go to bed, like a big stack of pancakes and a milkshake.

Go to the ice cream store and eat and eat. Have meals with a lot of fats and get some pretein through nuts and fish. I hope you like twinkies!

you should eat fattening foods like potato chips and french fries and other stuff like that but you should just keep being a vegetarian because there are many fattening food that are not meat
and cut down on SOME of the healthy stuff
and by the way tell me some hints on becoming skinny wow you are SO skinny

Eat a Peanut butter and Jelly Sandwich everynight before you go to bed. I've heard of people trying to gain weight doing this. People trying to loose weight would not eat at all before bed.

Can you increase your carbs? That's a weight gainer. SNACK late at nite.Eat before you go to bed. Eat cheese that's a good one to gain weight on.Good luck OK?EAT more protein---nuts are a great source---- mix corn+ beans that's a great way to gain.MY SISTER gained weight on corn bread, home made bread, and donuts.

You need to eat meat. You may have a medical condition where it is not healthy for you to be a vegetarian. Eat and pray for the animals. If you were stranded in the woods they would eat you.
