Your state requires a person to be seen by a commissioner within 24 hours of being detained. However, many are held longer than that.

article 73 (1-a) of the code allows an individual to be held in custody for a twelve-hour period without the requirement that the individual be officially deemed a "suspect."

Unless they are being held by rules of the new federal rules for investigating terror suspects, they would have 24 hours once they are considered suspects.

they have to release you in 24 hours and or unless they have probable cause then it can be up to 48 hours then they have to charge you or let you go.
