You have to remember that some people are bathed in ignorance and ignorance breeds fear which breeds hatred. I am not a homosexual, so I can't really speak to that experience. But, I am a black woman, so I do know what it is to be discriminated against simply for being who you are. As for homosexuality being a sin I chose to recall that MAN not God placed a rating on sin. So, in the eyes of God the man that lies is just as much a sinner as the adulterer and the murderer. So, have we not all sinned? Will we not all sin? I have posted these quotes from the bible before, and I will again. These two quotes are the two passages from the Bible that I try hardest to live up to; I think that the world would be a better place if more people did the same:
Matthew 5:1-7
1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Luke 6:37
37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven
And to all those people that are quick to tell homosexuals that they are going to hell. You need to read this one:
Genesis 12:3
3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee

hey, i've always stuck up for gay ppl, and argued that you have the same rights as everyone else. the only problem i would ever have w/ a gay person is if they were being a jerk, which anyone can do, or if they tried to hit on me, which, no offence ment, i really dont like.
but on the subject of the fact that it is a sin, i don't even think that it should BE a sin, and if sins were ranked, it should definatly be low on the list of importance. Everyone is human, and has certain rights that they should be given, no matter what race, religion, sex, or sexual preferance. The main rights r ones that have already been taken away from u, like marrage.

Ok... first of all there are sins that are greater then other sins.....(denounce god... greatest sin of all).....
Now as for your second question... Don't contradict yourself... You state that its a, "our sexual prefrence".... Prefrence shows choice. Then you continue to say, "we cant help who we love"... Well if it is a prefrence then yes you can. But thats just me helping you with your question to be not so contradictory.
Now to the end of your statement.Have you ever thought that maybe people are just tired of you?? Yea your gay... So what??? Do you want a specail award??? I'm actually getting tired of hearing gays and lesbians getting on a soap box and thinking because that is one aspect of them that everything is about that... So stop your preeching about it and keep your mouth shut, and maybe you will actually hear why people aren't liking you...

A sin is a sin I always say. Most people see sin to certaint degrees, some are harsher than others. Nobody is born gay, its what you wish to try and encounter. I have had a friend that was gay and told me when he was 14 when he started to have sexual encounters, that's how he started. The way I found out is he liked me. I told him that I was not going to go against what god had intended just because he has a fetish of liking up the your know what. We are no longer friends, but i wish the best for him. If you want to accept the truth. The truth is god made Adam and Eve, a female and male, not Adam and Adam or Eve with Eve. Its wrong to be gay in a lot of different ways and that's why you get most people that end up disrespecting you. Its wrong scientifically, morally, and against the vary foundations of the human civilization. I don't mean to disrespect you. If you like being gay more power to you. Like I always say, "nearly three-fourths of all Americans believe In hell, hardly Any believe it to be their likely destination In eternity" and that's why most people do and feel free to do whatever they want.

lol first of all I'm catholic. Big shocker. :) But I still know that the bible is a story....only you can determine what is morally wrong or right for youself. I think people are more accepting than you think. As a matter of face, if you want to feel better about it, in ancient Roman times it was very normal for people to just sleep with whoever they wanted, male or female. It actually use to be the so called "norm." Hey, if ur happy with yourself, you wont care what people think. Stop trying soooo hard to make a point and live your life and enjoy.

i think that people accept you as a person, just not your actions. and you are absolutely right, being a homosexual is a sin, but everyone sins. God doesn't hate the sinner, he hates the sin. i guess some people are still shocked, but most people that don't accept homosexuality just don't understand it or are misinformed about it. but for now, don't worry about what other people think. be yourself and be proud of the person you are. i'm sure that you are a really nice person, so don't let it bother you. i hope you feel better soon :)

Honey, because people are ignorant, judgemental, shallow and just plain stupid. It will always be that way, sad but true.
I am sorry that you have to put up with those narrow-minded people judging you, it should matter WHO you are. We all have the right to be happy, why can't everyone accept that fact?
Hugs, Marilyn

Live your life the way you want - Who you "love' is your business......stop the 'movement' man - you don't see heterosexual stickers or banners or a "straight parade". You want to be left alone for your choices, but yet still have it everyones government, homes, schools. If it were really about just loving who you wanted, then that would be sufficient....

Cause its NOT natural and not in God's plan. If God wanted two guys together he would have made Adam and Steve, not Adam and Eve...nice rainbow in the background
