I can't believe how many questions I've answered that have focused on the conflict between Atheists and Christians today. Any comments?

Why should there be a conflict between atheists and Christians, anyhow?
Christians: Once you have told the atheist what you believe about Jesus, and he has let you know that he is not interested, leave him alone. It is his choice. Be as loving as Christ about it.
Atheists: Nobody says you have to talk to Christians. If you are really so much more "intelligent" than they are, why don't you have enough sense to walk away? The very worst thing they can do about it is to pray for you!

I have some comments. And to the point yesterday was evolutionist vs creationists.
Heres my point on your question.
Ask a Christian what do you believe happens when you die. They say they believe when they die they go to heaven because they believe Jesus is the savior. You ask for scientific proof. There is none. They have faith.
Ask an an Atheist what do you believe happens when you die. They say its over and they are dead and they will cease to exist. You ask for scientific proof. There is none. They have faith!
Both atheist and Christian has faith.
If the atheist or the Christian dies and nothing happens, then what was important was the actions while alive, did they both love and try and make the world better. They are judged on this every day by their fellow man.
If the atheist and the Christian dies and Jesus judges the living and the dead, the Christian goes to heaven and the atheist goes to hell.
So it is. For this reason I don't call myself an atheist.
To be a Christian means I would have to accept in my heart that Jesus died, really came back and showed himself to his apostles, thus proving he was God.
I haven't been able to intellectually accept that, and somewhere in my heart a long time ago I accepted it in my heart, that Jesus was God and prove was he came back.
So for me I'm really not worried about my salvation, I worry about growing in my faith, and working through all the intellectual issues.

The conflict has risen more into the public eye lately because the fundamentalist sorts are trying to change American laws to support their belief system. If they'd stay in their churches and homes with it, they'd be no conflict.

No,atheists versus themselves. I believe atheists will argue with a billboard if it say something against them. atheists don't believe in nothing therefore their views means nothing. They are jealous of those who have faith. They don't have faith if they say they have faith they have lied because faith is believing God because faith comes thru God. Christianity will reign over our politics and government as long as Christians are here. They have to get over it or join in on the bandwagon!

We atheist aren't "against" or "versus" christians or christianty. Mostly we just pity anyone who would waste thier lives living by rules passed down by bronze-age sheperds.
Atheists persecuting christians is a christian martyr-fantasy. Nothing more...

Christians bring it onto themselves by thinking if you aren't Christian you are an Atheist. I feel sad for them really. I think what Christians need is a religious acceptance day to get them off their pedastool.

I noticed the same. I answered a few last night too. I hope my answers get through, as I do learn a lot from the theists here. :-)
Actually that is quite the norm for this section. We get a few of those questions weekly.
