School's almost over and I've decided to ask out my friend. We get along really well and I think she likes me but no matter what a yes or no is better than torturing myself all summer asking myself what if's.

We have finals this week. I'm planning to tell her at the beginning of the class that I want to talk to her alone after it's over (good idea or bad idea- should I wait until the end to tell her I want to talk to her?). Then I'm going to tell her how much I've enjoyed getting to know her this year and that she brightens up my day, I like her a lot and then tell her that I'm ready for a committed relationship or just dating (we both have really busy summers) and that matter what she says I don't want it to stop us from being friends.

That's the main reason I've waited so long. I don't want to ruin our friendship.

Does this sound like a good way to go about it? I don't want to use any cheesey pick up lines, just be honest with her.

It sounds like you've really thought this all out, and you have made a good plan. It takes courage to step out there and take a chance on a relationship. Just being yourself and being honest is seriously the way to go.

Best wishes!

IT sounds okay, but I worry that maybe she'll be too concerned with what you're going to tell her to pay attention to her final if you mention it before class. Also do you have anything to give her, like maybe a ring or a necklace or anything to be symbolic of your dating relationship? It might be a good idea to try to get something like that. Then maybe you could say at the beginning of class that you have something for her and she'll just think it's a bye for the summer gift and it might not bother her during class. Anyhow then you could give it to her and say that you really enjoy being around her and thought maybe the two of you could have a go at dating. I hope I helped. Best wishes

Sounds like you've put way too much thoght in to this which means that you do really like which is great. The only thing I could say is that laying all that on her is putting a lot of pressure on her what's wrong with just being a bold and asking her to go out one time before your summers get really busy? If that date goes well then ask for another a little later.

Honesty is the best answer, but I would wait till after finals so that you don't rattle her brain while she is testing. But be honest with her and don't pressure her

That sounds perfect. Remember, if she rejects you, you have to say that (before you ask the Q!!) that you still want to be her friend. If you do it this way, either path, she will still be close to you.

thats awsome, but wait until the end of class, or you'll both be worrying about what is gonna happen, and you'll do bad on your finals.

Just go out and keep it slow and relaxed. Let her take the lead.
