At 3 months the puppy is way to old to have the tail docked. now if you want it altered you have to have it amputated. your local vet should be able to do that for u if you want to have that done. a tail dock is usually done when the puppies are around 5 days old.

Nope. At that age, you'll need a vet to prevent him from bleeding to death. It will require stitches. It's only safe to dock a puppy's tail at home within the first day or two of life while the cartilage is still soft.

usually tails are docked when a pup is only a couple of days old. I would think that you probably wouldnt want to do it now because it would be definetly surgery, because they would have to amputate it pretty much. Obviously tails can be removed but I would suggest talking to your dogs vet and see if they would perform the surgery since its pretty much unnecessary and just cosmetic. good luck, ive heard jack russels are pretty hyper but they sure are cute!

I think its cruel to dock an animals tail. Thats like someone chopping your nuts off. I think you need to consult a vet for info or read the websites about tail docking.

Why would you want to amputate a part of your puppy's body?
