Crickey, lock the door if you don't want the old man walking in.
Maybe he feels comfortable with being in the same room with his wife while she tends to her bodily functions, some men will also object to their wives intruding.
I've never been married, but I have opened the door on several women who were living in the same house, for some reason women are more likely to leave the door unlatched than men. an unconcious exhibitionist urge, maybe?

Silly Lilly, that is so funny!! Yeah, my bf, and 2 cats always have to join me in the bathroom like it is family meeting time. Unfortunately the doorknob doesn't close the door all the way so the cats poke their head in and come in. I just figured guys were gross that way, I mean think about locker rooms and stuff. I'm sure us ladies act a little different in locker rooms at the gym than guys.

Marriage, thankfully, allows some leeway in the setting of boundaries and what is appropriate behavior in marraiges is not in other social relationships. Just because it offends you does not make it inappropriate for them. HOWEVER, the fact that you are aware of this suggests they do it in front of you, in which case they have commited a social faux pas, like kissing a little too deeply in public, in which case you are owed an apology, but not for their "rudeness" to each other just to you.

I don't know, but isn't it gross. My sister's husband does that to her. The weird thing is, she doesn't say anything to him. My husband and I agreed before we got married, that bathroom time was private time. I like it that way. There is something about seeing your mate sitting on the pot that takes away from the sexy image you have of them. That's not good in a marriage.

For the same reason women walk in on their husbands. That is not a gender specific situation. Answer: Basically, because they can.

Because he feels comfortable around his wife. If you don't want him walking in on you, talk to him about it.

its nothing to us, usually we are doing one of the 2 bodily functions that one would consider private, but thats not private anymore cause we all do it, sometimes the smell can be unbearable and you just want to be alone....I can name a host of other things that can be inconsiderate. This is nothing
