Besides the Hirsch book already mentioned (What Your 5th Grader...), you should check out Rebecca Rupp's book, "Home Learning Year-By-Year". She goes sequentially through each year and lays out a plan for each one.

If you're thinking you may be behind, you could try standardized testing. The Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the Stanford Acheivement Test (SAT) are two. They're both available from Bob Jones University Testing and Eval. Services (see link in sources). However, I believe you need a college degree to administer either AND, with the Stanford, you must also test another non-relative child on the same level when you test your own child. Some homeschool groups and co-ops offer annual testing, so you may want to check with your local group.

Disregard the standards, if your concerned make sure that your fifth grader is reading at grade level. Many people are suprised that many students can't read at grade level.

5th Graders need to know .How to do self study.
He should know to memorise the answer & should solve the maths oue by their own.
& stop taking help from anybody Of small reasons.
be smart & confident.
