I use Basic H from Shackley. It is a wetting agent. It is very mild but does a great job of getting pups clean, and never hurts their skin or eyes. It is also very economical. Or you can use no tears baby shampoo.

Don't try to be cheap. Dog's skin are not the same as a human's, and there are some things that are not good for them or can cause skin problems for them. You can get really good shampoo from either a vet or groomer that is concentrated and when you add it to water (per instructions) can last for years. If you are going to take care of your dog, do it in a responsible way.
