I was walking with one of my guy frendz the other day (i'm a girl) on campus & we reached a door. I waited 4 him 2 open it 4 me, & he was like "What? I ain't opening the door 4 u." After reluctantly opening the door 4 myself, i asked him "Don't u ever open the door 4 ur girlfrend?" He sed "No. She can open the door herself, she got hands."
I'm enjoying the single life 4 now, bt i vowed that when i do get a man i would want him 2 open the door 4 me. I'm 18, & perhaps my peers of the opposite sex bliev that those days r over. What do u guys feel abt opening the door 4 women? Would u like that a woman is demanding that respect 4rm u, or would u be like this girl is crazy & get urself another girlfriend?

well this is me. I would without question open the door for my girl. its the least i could do. but that's just me of course, i guess maybe im still traditional, but i still would. no doubt.
this is the situation im in now. Im crazy about this girl. And well i don't think she feels the same way. Yet (hopefully). but i Love her. and i would do anything for her. Opening the door is something so insignificant, i would consider it only right that i do.

I believe opening the door for a lady or woman, is something that a man is supposed to do. Maybe they do think that this is an old tradition, then ask yourself this question, could it be possible that they have no manners or no home training. You shouldn't feel guilty on that half, because that's a mannerable gesture a man should make for a woman or lady or even a little girl. It's a part of courtesy, you know. The guy you know seems rude. All men must be gentlemen towards a woman.

This guy wasn't your boyfriend, so big deal. You shouldn't look for all men to do this. If you are first at the door open it!
When you get a boyfriend, it will be different because you won't go out with someone who doesnt.
Don't be prissy about it, there are much more important things in a relationship. Do you want them to stand up from a table every time you do? Thats just annoying!!

There sure in hell ain't nothing wrong with holding a door open for a girl but I don't think a guy wants a girl that's TOO demanding.

We have to respect girls and open doors for them but they don't need to respect us?? Something bad would happen to you if u would open the doors?? I think that respect has nothing to do with openin the doors. Personaly sometimes i open sometimes i don't but when i won't open doors that doesn't mean i don't respect someone. At the other hand girls want to be equal to guys right? so maby girsl should open doors for guys. That's just all old fashion crap. So as i said respect has nothing to do. Sometime someone open doors for you sometimes don't

Chivalry is everything to a relationship. A man should always open the door for his girlfriend. I open all doors for all women. it does not matter who they are or what they look like, it is always the gentlemanly thing to do. and no, I do not have a girlfriend.

You know what? A girl deserves respect from her bf.. And he its manners to hold the door open for a girl. My boyfriend always holds the door open for me, and its really sweet of him.

I would love a girl who would wait for me to open the door for her....I think it shows respect....I also pump gas for a girl if we happen to be in her car... in fact I broke the inside handle in my car so a girl has to wait for me to open the door for her....I did have a girl roll down the window and open it from outside before I got to her....but yes, I think it is romantic, and respectful to open dorrs for my partner....
