Yes
Exodus 20
5...for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Numbers 14:18
'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.'

Yes ofcourse...nodoubt 'bout that one....
Parents are responsible for their child eversince he/she was a seed. When they grow up alittle (suitable age)parents must make sure to teach their child that there is something known as GOD.This thing is the reason why everybody live and die and everybody is praying 2 him so u have to...In this way the child will know how 2 respect, obey and pray 2 God.Till the child reach age 18 or 17(some says 14)parents are not responsible 4 him/her wether he/she don't pray or something like that....i mean parents are not responsible no more 4 their child since he/she reaches the suitable age 4 that.

If I believed in hell after death I don't think a child would be punished for something it's parents failed to do. Only we humans punish children for the sins of omission or commission of their ancestors. As is obvious from all the people blaming present-day people for their ancestors invading their countries or doing them some harm.Particularly weak people, seem to do this. Every nation in the world has done wrong so is not really in the position to accuse others. The human race is a work in progress! In other words we're evolving into a better species ( provided we don't get brainwashed by our media on the way.)

In some faiths parents, or god-parents, will be responsible. That is why at baptism the god-parents must answer questions like "Do you reject Satan and all his works?" for the child. The child must answer these questions again for themselves at a ritual called "confirmation". Once a child has undertaken their confirmation they are responsible for their own actions in the eyes of "God".
Even in this case however the god-parents will not go straight to hell, for it is preached that god is all about forgiveness. If they are truly repentant for thier failure to guide the child god will forgive them and they will get into heaven, just like everyone else.

I say no. And why assume there is a hell? Human beings are free to believe anything they want, that is a given. As long as you are not harming anyone believe what you want. If everyone woke up tomorrow a little more confident in their own views of the world, a little less in need of false insight from someone pretending to have answers, and a lot more willing to think for themselves, imagine what a huge step forward that would be for humankind.

I don't believe in Heaven or Hell or a God that would turn his back on any of his creations. I believe that we are all pieces of God. We all get to go back to the source in the end. My children know my beliefs but are free to find their own truths. Both believe in God but in different ways. I assume this question was more for the Christian version of belief. I just felt like sharing my beliefs and offering another option.

No, at some point the child becomes responsible-no one knows when. Be sure of this-God is just-no one will go to hell without a chance-God is fair, but just.

I agree with Kibbie. Parents are responsible for teaching their moral values as well as Biblical truth and principles. As far as children going to hell? I'm sure there's a "loop" hole in this question but I don't know how to answer it!

The parents will be guilty for not teaching them, but if the children go to hell (after they are grown and become responsible for their own actions), it will be their sins which condemn them to hell, and not the actions of the parents.

God said in the book of Proverbs, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it".
Yeah. We will have to answer for every deed we do and every idle word we speak. Including these Q&A on Yahoo.
